Asana has dramatically improved my task/project management productivity
What do you like best about the product?
The best three things about Asana are the collaboration with teammates, integration of subtasks, and its integration with Instagantt. In addition, Asana is free for teams of less than 15 members, which is very generous when all I have are small teams. I get so much value from Asana for free.
I really enjoy the syncing with the mobile app, as I can check tasks as completed and refresh my memory of my calendar and inbox there.

What do you dislike about the product?
Asana just released start dates for their Premium paying customers only. I am a free user, and I wish I had access to start dates! Other than that, I wish Asana had an option to view all tasks across all organizations and workspaces that you're a part of. Currently, you can only view the tasks within a given organization or workspace, and have to switch over to other workspaces/organizations to view tasks there.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I list all of my personal and work-related tasks, assign them to myself or others on my teams, and switch over to Instagantt to build out the start dates, which are not natively stored in Asana.
I use the Gantt chart to share with teammates and clients as a principal guide for project management.
Subsections and subtasks allow me to be as granular as is necessary to get the work done. Top level tasks can have a single assignee to be responsible, and subtasks can have assignees under the top level tasks, which is fantastic. Using Instagantt, these subtasks can be collapsed or expanded, and have separate due and start dates.

Try it out! It's free for small teams, so there's only a little bit of investment in time to check it out.
With Asana's custom reports it makes it easy to find exactly what task you should be working on
What do you like best about the product?
Asana's custom reports allows you to drill down into what task you should be doing based on a lot of criteria. We use the GTD method, so next actions are important for us. We tag the next tasks in a project with next actions and assignee, and in their next action report they will see the task show up.
What do you dislike about the product?
Asana only offers team plans start with 1--5 users. I do wish that Asana offered a single-user plan that cost significantly less.
We're also unhappy with the robustness of Asana's notification options. A big improvement Asana could make is allowing you to create location based task reminders and specific time of day reminders. As is, Asana will just notify you in the morning that the task will be due that day.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We were looking for a product that would allow us to create custom reports like generating a list of next actions assigned to a certain employee during a specific time period within a project. You can really drill down in the search and save that search to instantly get back to those results again.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you need things like push notifications when a task is due or location based reminders, Asana is not your tool, at least for the moment. With everything else that it offers, Asana does very well.
Let no idea be forgotten.
What do you like best about the product?
The design is easy on the eye. I like that it can be used for a simple task or a lengthy project.
What do you dislike about the product?
I'd like to see a bar or Gantt chart to visually see what I have going on, so I can get rid of my excel sheet.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Every meeting I come out of gives me 5 more things to do. When I leave that meeting, I go into another meeting and forget those things. Instead of writing it on a paper that gets piled on and never found, I quickly add a task with a due date and PRESTO, when I get back to my desk those 5 things will be there.
I have been using Asana for 3 years and it's my tool for ensuring that every idea is not forgotten and thing slips through the cracks.

I like to think of it as a glorified checklist with features to make your life easier.
Mastering Tasks Like a Pro
What do you like best about the product?
I love that Asana allows subtasks for a major task. It helps you break down each component of a task to keep you on track with a workflow. Asana has features like assigning a time when a task is due.
What do you dislike about the product?
Honestly, the only thing I dislike is not being able to enjoy the animation when you click off a task. The animation tends to appear in the background and not layers on the front part of your screen.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Keeping organized on track with tasks. Having dates and time when tasks are done and having a master list of my tasks to keep me on track. I use it even for personal uses.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Free version. Can not go wrong with trying it out. Excellent free version to try.
Life saver!!!
What do you like best about the product?
Asana has gotten me through some crazy projects over the years! It is so easy and transparent it makes it super simple to introduce to newbies. I have gotten a Mayor elected with Asana and now I am using it to plan my wedding. Plus many other projects along the way! Asana is the go to!
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't like that you can't just pay for the amount of users you have. I have used this extensively in the past but am using it for personal now and can't get just a few people on for a few months at a time without having to pay for them the whole year. I would be willing to pay for monthly users but not for the whole year.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Transparent communications, managing work loads and figuring out how long it really takes to get a project done.
Asana has revitalised my workflow, headspace and efficiency!
What do you like best about the product?
I most love the ability to choose colour & person for each project and task, that helps me to quickly look down my task list and prioritise as per project and time. This is the one use that I most love as I contribute this to efficiency and planning.
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't like that I can't reorder the tasks in my task view... And I am unaware of this being an option in different paid versions.... There isn't really much to dislike with Asana at all.. :)
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am trying to tackle efficiency and awareness issues between my team of 7, and us having the ability to see which projects are being worked on reliably and effectively. I have realised benefits expanding to better discussion between users with tasking and project priority.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I would definitely recommend Asana in particular for the boards and project use, and ease of filtering for tasks as per projects.....
Activity Tracking for Teams
What do you like best about the product?
Being able to create custom fields and tags etc. that are unique to our team really set this task manager above others. In addition to that, the calendar view for particular tags helps us keep track of everyone's day, and everyone knows what everyone else is working on. This feature alone is the number one feature in our opinion.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some aspects of the UI.. I wish things were a bit more customizable and I wish I could fit more on my screen at once, possibly from different projects etc.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Asana has helped me personally to really optimize some of my workflows. It's no longer a question of what I need to do next, I just speed my way through the checklist and I am good to go! It has also helped us tremendously as a team, to assign tasks to others and even generate discussion about what to do next within a particular project.
Easy Organization Tool
What do you like best about the product?
I like the visualization of boards and that I can add images. I also like the feature that allows items to be synched over several boards.
What do you dislike about the product?
I would like more control over the calendar view and to have pre-made calendar boards. I run an editorial calendar and have to make and put in dates for each month manually. I wish it were easier to drag in files or images into boards.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am trying to organize a creative team with Asana — due dates, tasks, input, etc. I realize the benefits of being able to assign tasks and see where everyone is on a project.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I recommend trying Asana out and see if it meets the needs of your team. I think it is flexible and applicable to many different uses and companies. I like it just to organize my own personal projects as well — feels good to check off items!
It's very organized and efficient.
What do you like best about the product?
My favorite part is you can add and take away followers from a project or task, and it keeps your tasks private until you make them public. I like that it's really easy to organize by priority and by date. I like that it says the date until the week of and then says Monday, Tuesday, etc. It really helps me see what I have to do that week and when to not schedule other projects
What do you dislike about the product?
I think what I dislike about Asana is the inbox. I think it's not organized enough and a little all over the place. I think that the calendar should reflect your tasks and the projects that you follow, and maybe stick it in the My Tasks tab. I think the app could really improve because it's much harder than the online version, please make it the same.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I think, with how busy Friendemic is with all it's customers, this helps keep all the clients organized and everything you have to do can be a task. I think we would be a pretty big mess without Asana. My supervisor can see what I'm doing and when something I have to do is due. I like that I can assign and assign a task to anyone that is at Friendemic, it makes for really smooth working.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you have a big workload and need to be in communication with everyone's assignments in your workplace, then switch to Asana
A clean and maintained task maintainer tool
What do you like best about the product?
Tagging task, assigning to other team mates. The most amazing feature is creating a sub-task.We can create a task and divide into further tasks and assign it and when all sub-tasks gets complete the task is also completed.
Another amazing feature is Dashboard. You can track your task/tasks,how many you completed and how many are remaining.Asana even send emails if there are due tasks. You can even prioritize your tasks based on tags. You can rearrange your tasks based on project situation(new, progress, review, done). We can even create a new conversion or discussions for particular topic. There is also a way to review your completed tasks in the calendar feature where you can see task detail for particular day.

What do you dislike about the product?
Sometime it lags while loading the tagged links. Some great features are restristed to premium version and can be used only by those users. The most annoying thing is someone else can mark as complete the task even though you are the one that worked on it.Also there is a lack of support of office apps such as slack or google drive which our company mostly work on.
There are misleading text on the subtext in bottom such as User marked today. But it was marked 1 year ago.
Files tab is a bit clunky as there is no search option for files or arranging according to type.
