Amazing tool!

  • October 30, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Asana is an incredibly user-friendly program - I love using it and the drag + drop feature is one of my favorites. This makes it very easy to sort my tasks the way I want them.
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing so far! This program fills all my needs as of today.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Asana keeps my business organized and creates a very easy to follow task-oriented layout. It is very gratifying to mark a task as done and see it fade. This tool allows me to organize my to-do list for my role.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Highly recommend! I use the free version (for less than 4 folks I believe) and it fits right it to my needs.

Easily Organize Your Work Tasks for Yourself

  • October 27, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Asana was very simple to use; I was able to quickly create tasks and assign them to specific days. I was also able to add specific notes and continuously update the tasks as I progressed with my business.
What do you dislike about the product?
The only confusing items were "projects" vs tasks....it took me quite a while to understand what the difference were between the two.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
As an entrepreneur, I want to make sure I am hitting my deadlines, speaking to the clients as promised, as well as remember all the details that went with every appointment. It definitely is a great memory jogger and helps me gain better trust with my clients.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you are looking for a task software to help you stay accountable to your deadlines as well as keep meticulous notes on events, Asana is a great platform. This is also a great tool to use if you are working a project with multiple people, and you can set sharing properties to collaborate or keep projects private.

    Non-Profit Organization Management

Asana has been an integral part of our operations for quite some time now

  • October 26, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
1) The ability to have recurring tasks
2) Being able to reply to comments through email
3) Can assign away tasks to people and don't have to 'save changes' or anything like that
4) Being able to click through to the specific task is nice through email
5) Being able to create custom labels is very handy
What do you dislike about the product?
1) Pinging people with emails who are following a task seems like too much. Would be nice to be able to change those settings if possible
2) I think people who sign up just feel Asana sends too many emails in general
3) You can only have 'board' view for a project it seems, while it would be nice to have it for a variety of different ways tasks could be arranged. I would always have the Trello-like board view if I could
4) Integration with Gmail would be great - the new Beta launch hasn't been very good
5) Doesn't integrate well with Active Inbox for Gmail
6) Consider a non-profit discount or pro bono offerings
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Asana was quite important to us for keeping track of tasks related to a variety of projects. I've simply become quite a bit more efficient personally and as an organization with Asana. We're really very grateful for it.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Perhaps less for those who stay organized in a visual way, rather than using lists, unless they expand this feature. Otherwise, best product out there for managing internal systems.

Best Project Management Tool For Digital Marketing Agencies

  • October 25, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Ease of task creation & organization of your task lists & projects. It also has a very nice recurring task feature that allows you to space tasks based on client size & how frequently they would need to be done. There is also a bulk edit feature that Trello doesn't offer & easier to use than Teamwork's.
What do you dislike about the product?
The templates are a little more rigid & aren't as flexible as other software I've used. Also, it can get difficult to utilize the same template for more than one team or department. In an agency setting, having several projects/templates for one client can be a pain to manage.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
For keeping up with recurring tasks & prioritizing work, Asana is the best tool we've used. The ease of bulk editing tasks is far better than either Trello or Teamwork. Also, smaller things such as commenting on items, task assignments, repeating tasks is easier than competitors. These are minor interface features but do make a noticeable difference when using it for several hours every day.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
This is a great solution for technical work that requires ongoing maintenance/tasks, it works very well for SEO & PPC. Also, it is possible to integrate training materials/guidelines within the interface, which keeps everything in one place.

Wonderful for sprints!

  • October 25, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
My company uses Asana largely to track our sprint schedules between teams, so we're checking the website constantly. It's great for tracking individual and team tasks, and especially pairing down multiple tasks within a larger project. I don't think it would work as well as it does without the functionality of assigning tags to the respective person responsible for the task.
What do you dislike about the product?
One large issue I run into is the organization of project tasks themselves. I always get duplicate tasks shown because I'm assigned within a bigger project. So, the task list that I personally have becomes cluttered and irrelevant for making lists. It would also be nice to be able to organize my personal task list into more categories or show their parent project.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our whole company runs on a 2-week sprint schedule, which is why we use Asana. Every team can have their own category and run different sets of projects underneath. We use them as boards sometimes, like having different teams use pages for organizing support, help, collateral needed, etc. This allows us to create a ticket system, where everyone is held accountable and everyone can see who is assigned to what task and at what point it is within the whole scope.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I do think Asana takes a few weeks to really get the hang of how it functions. There are a lot of parts within it and at a company, there are many people who are also using it in the same space. I would recommend really learning the shortcuts and taking the time to learn all of it's uses—and you'll still learn something new every now and then about it. For example, the other day I realized you can customize task tags, so if something impromptu comes up, you can tag it as such.

Asana is my To Do List

  • October 25, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
With Asana, I can easily create my To Do List, set Due Dates, sort by those dates, and even create tasks via email. My inbox remains uncluttered this way. What I really like is whether it is on my mobile device or on one of my computers in the browser, everything stays in sync beautifully. If I'm in the middle of a meeting and know that I have tasks to do (or suddenly remember a task that needs following up on), I can make a note for myself very quickly. That way, when I get back to my computer, it's right there waiting on me. I can also easily setup a task and then assign it to one of my coworkers to complete. I can then get comments or validation that it has been taken care of.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are a lot of features that Asana has that I've not been able to take advantage of. Also, there are some things I don't particularly care for. For instance, when creating a task, if I assign it to someone else FIRST before completing the Title, Due Date, etc. then they will get multiple notification emails around the task as I make updates.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I can easily see a glance of what my day looks like and avoid over-booking myself with tasks and due dates.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It's easy to learn and the ability to email yourself tasks make it so helpful. It took me less than 2 hours to be fully up and running with it.

Manage small to large-scale projects with Asana

  • October 24, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Asana provides visibility into project status and encourages communication between teams & departments across projects of any size. You can go deep into the weeds of a project by assigning project status as a colored tag, start and end dates so contributors can efficiently manage time, and view projects in list view or calendar view depending on how high level you'd like to go. There are several efficiencies built into the platform; for example, tagging a teammate will automatically add them to the project or task if they were not previously a follower. You can also quickly adjust multiple due dates at once for several tasks. Plus, best of all, you can enable fun animations that jump across the screen when you check off a task, a little known hack that will lead to immense satisfaction (trust me). Overall, the UX is incredibly intuitive and friendly on the eyes.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are some items I'd like to be able to set Defaults for that I cannot; for example, in list view being able to auto-sort by Due Date. I always have to adjust this setting.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Asana helps our department manage on average 40-50 monthly projects, per person. That's literally hundreds if not thousands of projects that we are able to communicate with the other departments we collaborate with. I literally can't imagine doing all of this through email, or even through some fancy folder structure in Google Drive. Plus, Asana's emphasis on task completion really helps everyone gauge where we are in a project, and what's holding us back from completion.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
There is a lot of customization that can be made, including status tags and how you approach the management of projects or tasks in general. There's a lot of options, so it is best to appoint someone as lead to help craft how your organization leverages Asana.

An online to-do list as fun as social media!

  • October 23, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like the design of it, and that the user experience is similar to social media but manages productivity as well as it does. It works really well for a remote team like ours, even with some that are only part time or consultants for short periods of time. We have just enough users in our free version to rotate folks in and out as we change projects and interns, etc.
What do you dislike about the product?
I'd like an easier list or way to see new notifications rather than having to scroll through the feed. I'd also like just a couple more customization options with the free version, as our team is so small - being able to use priority levels in the free version would really help us a lot, but is not a feature we feel is worth starting a larger cost for, especially since a good portion of our team is only part time. The expense isn't necessarily worth it yet until we have more full time employees, but it would really help ur consultants to know how quickly we need certain things done since they have multiple clients besides us.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our team is mostly remote, so communication and execution can be tough. This helps us to really keep projects moving forward on a daily basis without having to constantly e-mail, call, or text each other. It keeps our inboxes cleaner for communication with our clients and vendors, and internal communication can happen much quicker through Asana.

Excelent for organization

  • October 23, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The visual calendar is a great way to visualize the tasks and status of projects at a simple glance
What do you dislike about the product?
We are using the free version and wished we could pull the recently completed tasks report, however, being a small company it is hard to justify the expense of getting the premium package. In other words, the limited access to tools on the free version is what I dislike the most.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Task planning and organization.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
This is a great product to keep track of projects, especially if you upgrade to use task dependencies as this shows you if there is a kink in the chain of productivity.

Asana has made my life so much easier!

  • October 23, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
How easy it is to use, how simple it is to assign tasks to someone and keep track of what's going on. It's brilliant!
What do you dislike about the product?
Not being able to add tasks to specific time slots in a day to organise my calendar. This would help not having to use outlook to manage my calendar.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Lack of organisation on projects. Asana just makes it easier by giving me the confidence to not overthink my tasks. They're all logged in there, therefore I don't have to think about them. But I also know that I won't forget anything.
It has also helped improve the logging of external queries, helping keep track of what's going on and the progress made on them.
The other brilliant thing I decided to use it for, is for the logging of new newsletter subscribes, as it has the option to export to CSV it makes it so much easier.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you're looking for a software that is able to manage teams effectively - this is it. It works extremely well, it's fast and easy to run and it does everything you need.
