Excellent Project Management Tool
What do you like best about the product?
Asana provides you with the ability to set up projects the way you like - and customize it exactly how you like. Depending on the project, the project manager, and/or the project team, it can be built exactly how you need.
What do you dislike about the product?
It can be confusing to step into the many things it can do, and the ways we use it internally, for new employees.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
- Align team on requirements and to-dos for upcoming days/weeks/months
- Ensure project deliverables are delivered on time

Recommendations to others considering the product:
Depending on your number of team members, this can be a VERY smart investment.
Handy Tool!
What do you like best about the product?
I like that asana has a ton of customizations that can handle multiple projects and team members. It makes it so easy to collaborate with team members and stay organized!
What do you dislike about the product?
It can be kind of confusing to learn how to use all of the features because there are so many. Luckily, I just use this for personal use, but I could see how it may be challenging to learn to different employees.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I like to have a desktop and mobile version of my to-do lists, so I'm free to add content whenever I'm reminded and it's everywhere I go!
Great when I remember to use it
What do you like best about the product?
I like that you can set up and visualize tasks and deadlines in several formats - calendar view, task list, and upcoming. I also appreciate that you can assign tasks to others, or request review.
What do you dislike about the product?
This is one of the least intuitive platforms I have used in awhile -I needed tutorial videos to be able to figure out features and truly utilize the platform.
I also dislike that it allows you to create tasks/ email yourself tasks without a deadline- which end up just sitting at the top of "My Tasks" and cluttering the workspace.

As an employee in a small business that wears many hats, I love that I can track multiple tasks and projects across several spaces
- Able to assign tasks to teammates and get reviews from my boss without bothering them - it shows up automatically in their task list
- Can ask questions about assignments directly without having to send an email
- Able to visualize my tasks and can view upcoming tasks - so I can ignore projects that are far away without forgetting about them
- Project calendar view allows us to see the big picture and plan key deliverables
- Automatic project tracking

Make sure to watch tutorials to really get the full value
Fantastic project management tool
What do you like best about the product?
Asana was clearly designed by people who use David Allen's Getting Things Done system. Though Allen himself has in the past argued that a paper-based system is most efficient, Asana is a strong contender for most efficient digital GTD tool. It's easy to input tasks and projects, and to assign specific items an owner. I haven't checked recently if they've released a desktop app for MacOS, but we've had it set up as a Fluid app for the last three years and that works just fine for our purposes.
What do you dislike about the product?
We've had some trouble getting external freelancers to adopt it. Some people argue that Slack makes Asana unnecessary, but I couldn't disagree more.Slack is about communication and Asana is about project management. They do in fact integrate well.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The notifications system and the ability to assign individual tasks an owner have really kept parallel projects moving forward efficiently. Automating reminders, and having each user have their own personalized inbox of tasks to start their day with -- That's the main benefit.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If your org uses Slack, considering adding Asana for project management. They really do work well together, even though people act like they're competitors.
Great Platform for Remote Teams
What do you like best about the product?
I really appreciate that Asana has a great mobile app, which is convenient for individuals who aren't glued to their desk. The team calendar feature is also great to see what everyone is working on and when tasks are due. Being able to create a list of tasks, then go into a staff meeting and seamlessly assign everything out is also super helpful. I also get great value out of being able to add sections within a project (instead of having to make multiple projects to segment out tasks that are related to each other). Overall a great platform for managing multiple projects and action items going on at once.
What do you dislike about the product?
There isn't too much I don't like about Asana to be honest. The only thing that immediately comes to mind is that all of the layers can sometimes be confusing (workspaces, projects, tasks, subtasks, comments, etc.).
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I work with a remote team so having the ability to easily see what everyone's working on at any moment is crucial. It's also helpful to work through Asana when assigning out tasks, adding clarity, and passing along documents versus going back and forth with emails/calls. This was our first year using Asana and I see it being beneficial for many years to come.
We love Asana
What do you like best about the product?
Asana is a perfect tool to organize projects, especially processes used over and over again.
What do you dislike about the product?
I guess it would be great to have a few more CRM options but I guess it is really not designed for it. Perhaps integration with companies like FreshWorks.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Everytime we get a new client we have over 100 steps we have to consider as we develop their websites, logos etc and Asana makes it easy to use this process un unlimited clients.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you are using repetitive processes and you do not want to miss anything then Asana is the perfect fit for you and your business.
When you need more than a To Do list
What do you like best about the product?
Asana is very easy to set up and provides lots of support. The amount of things that can be stored in Asana - attachments, images, pdfs, convos is really helpful. I use it for personal use and my company has adopted it for project management across departments.
What do you dislike about the product?
Images, pdfs, content within a convo require you to log into Asana to download which can be time consuming. Also, while it is easy to use, getting team members who have never used a project management system to adopt Asana is ... challenging.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Heavier to-do lists and complicated projects across departments were out-growing the traditional inbox and to-do lists that we used previously.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Take advantage of support. Don't worry about getting it "perfect" when setting up as it is easy to change/adapt to needs. Let team members use on their own(personal project management/to-do lists) at first to get comfortable in the product.
Great once you get used to it
What do you like best about the product?
Views create easy way to see your tasks and can help determine priority lists. User friendly and aesthetically pleasing
What do you dislike about the product?
It takes some time to get used to features and understand setting that work for your specific organization. For example, you may feel as though you are getting a lot of emails or notifications when first using the tool but this can be controlled.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I used this tool while on a board for a non-profit. This was a volunteer position and it made it much easier for all of us to communicate and keep track of tasks. Through this tool we were able to successfully plan professional events and volunteer opportunities for members of our group.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
There is a learning curve when using this software as it is very interactive and you may not be used to the level of detail. Once you are used to this software it makes planning much easier.
Good framework, flexible enough for any team
What do you like best about the product?
The flexibility to build checklists and processes to fit multiple needs
What do you dislike about the product?
The limited features in the free version. It's so powerful and yet so limited. I probably wouldn't have a problem if I hadn't been spoiled with enterprise access.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Coordinating teams in multiple locations and timezones. We were able to build processes that worked for multiple types of freelancers (technical, creative, clients, etc) and all of the different individual contributors kept on task by the systems inside Asana.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Take time to dig into the free version to see if the basic functionality is going to work for you. Also, determine tagging and naming conventions before you get too deep into it to make sure you keep everything organized while you're going. Once you have a structure set up, it's an absolute breeze.
Great for team assignments
What do you like best about the product?
I don't like reminders and to do list, but Asana is simple and easy to use. It's great for teams because you can simply assign each person their duties and use Asana as a means of keeping track on progress.
What do you dislike about the product?
The biggest downfall can be the learning curve. Asana is a powerful tool and it can be somewhat intimidating.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Again, keeping a team on task. With a blog a run, someone edits photos, someone writes the recipe, someone schedules the post, and so on. Asana helps to keep us on task and let us know when to move forward with the next task.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Again, it can be difficult to learn if you go all in. If you're just looking for a simple way to keep your team on track, it's great.
