Good for a go-getter
What do you like best about the product?
Asana is a really easy drag and drop tool - It's great for individuals that need to visualize their projects and keep track of an ever-changing environment.
What do you dislike about the product?
One thing I wish Asana would do is push more updates to my desktop and not spam my email account. I'd love to have instantaneous pop-ups when my deadline is approaching.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I'm utilizing Asana to keep track of our major projects and website redesign. When there is only one of you, it's easier to share your progress and track all the moving parts when you use a tool that's easy to understand. I can also include others as needs for both tracking and projects/assignments.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you're looking for an easy and free solution, I highly recommend using the trial or free version of Asana for a few projects and tracking your success with interaction and logging. I found it very helpful with my own work whereas my co-worker/collaborator did not like her experience.
An effective solo and team task management system
What do you like best about the product?
Easily customizable. Quick. Organized. Robust depth, yet simple UX. Drag and drop prioritization and quick task creation, multiple sections, and projects is essential for my dynamic work requirements. I've developed my own system that has kept me very organized since adopting it.
What do you dislike about the product?
Recurring tasks could use some work. I shouldn't complain though as I have the free version and I believe the premium versions address this.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I manage projects across multiple entities (and personal my personal todo list) all through Asana. I've used asana in the context of a team effectively, but now I use it for my own to do list management.
Great Productivity Tool
What do you like best about the product?
This was a very easy to use project management tool. It allows for reusable templates for projects, and easy tracking of tasks and activities. I love the reoccuring tasks feature. Setting due dates is easy. People can comment on status of projects and activities.
What do you dislike about the product?
I would love to see an integrated Gantt Chart feature. It would be nice to have clearer display of subtasks and the percent completion of a larger task based on completing subtasks.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Asana made it easy to share the work among all of the staff members, and for everyone to see the tasks associated with completing a specific activity or project. It is always up-to-date and it had very little learning curve for even the unsaviest of computer users.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It is worth trying. It is free for small teams with basic needs, and has many of the features of much higher priced options.
This is great for small businesses looking to share the workload. The reoccuring tasks option takes the guesswork out of ensuring that regular monthly activities, or weekly activities do not get forgotten.

Great Program
What do you like best about the product?
I like how seamlessly Asana created a system that allows individual users to set tasks private to themselves, reach out for help from others/group projects, or contribute to company-wide initiatives. This system has helped me with a great place to keep my reminders and keep track of my personal projects. It has also allowed a level of transparency for the business as a whole as we can all see and keep track of the group or company-wide projects. Works great as a took for conferencing and following up with our teams overseas.
What do you dislike about the product?
I would like to see a little more customization ability. The program allows the use of color in tasks, but I think they could expand upon this for those of us who are more color/visually oriented.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Asana helps my team conference with teams overseas, keep track of projects on company or team-wide levels, as well as helping me keep my own weeks running according to plan.
Useful for big projects & delegating
What do you like best about the product?
If you're in charge of a project with many moving pieces, this program is great for seeing who is doing what, assigning tasks, keeping to deadlines, etc.
What do you dislike about the product?
Emails galore! Unless you change your email settings, it sends you an email every day about your to-do lists.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have been able to delegate better and with more transparency!
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Ask yourself if you have a need for delegating tasks in a streamlined transparent way, so all members of a team can see projects and tasks as they progress.
Asana creates a strong and usable task completion system
What do you like best about the product?
I like the simplicity of having effective subsets of tasks within a given project without other distracting options. It's the closest to the simplicity of writing it out on paper.
What do you dislike about the product?
I sm not yet used to the sense of completion I get from planning on paper though Asana is much more polished that a paper system. I wish there was a way to integrated scheduling of tasks from individual projects. Perhaps I haven't figured it out yet. I still find working out certain task planning by hand on paper is helpful for me or just what I'm used to.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Consolidating my to do list into one unit, rather than juggling multiple disheveled notebooks.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Definitely give time to adjust to mapping out task in a digital space. Let yourself use paper if need be since thinking specially about time management is habitual for some.
Great Calendar Project Management
What do you like best about the product?
I use the calendar feature all the time. It is great to see what I have going on and what my team has going on. It also allows for real project planning, where I can set tasks, daily even, and have it lead in the back end to a greater and larger project.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish there was an ability to clone and tas and lead to the same edit screen as creating a task minus the assignee and the date.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
we use Asana to plan tasks for projects, this also gives us a real schedule and visual of how busy our month or week is. it also allows us to keep track of when a task isn't ready to be performed as we can move it to a new date and the task records that movement.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Asana works very well for companies looking for a software that can break down projects into manageable tasks, and record those tasks on a very minute level. it can also help with repetitive tasks that need to be redone every month, like a contract renewal.
Asana is great for collaboration
What do you like best about the product?
The many features make Asana a full-suite project management software, the best part of which is collaboration with your teammates. It pulled me out of my inbox and into doing the actual work.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are a few features that seem like they should be intuitive, but are missing. For example, assignment of tasks to multiple people, being able to pull a report of all the projects you own, and the ability to manipulate how sub-tasks show up in a project list would be nice.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We’re remote, so being able to check in at a glance on the status of project is real-time is invaluable.
Asana- the collaboration tool you NEED to level up
What do you like best about the product?
Besides just being amazing, its features are mostly intuitive, it is highly integrative and highly functional.
What do you dislike about the product?
New users have a hard time learning some features if they dont have at least some guidance. These are mostly minor issues but tips inside the software for new users would help this. Also, there has been a lack of support for their templates on their other site Templana, as well as their main site it self.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am rapidly growing a team at my consulting agency and keeping communications, plans, and details all in one place was a nightmare beofre asana. The ability to have a project management tool that works and is affordable is a game changer for my business.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
There will be challenges with learning asana, but for the buck it is THE BEST project management software out there.
Asana to keep tasks organized
What do you like best about the product?
Asana's layout is user friendly and aesthetically pleasing. It makes organizing lists of tasks easy by due date as well as by priority ranking. The comments for each assignment make collaborating easy with a larger team and make it easy to track what has gotten done. Your list of tasks also makes planning the day easier because everything is laid out in front of you in one easy checklist.
What do you dislike about the product?
While the breakdown of assignments into different tasks is great, it would be nice to able to submit comments to these specific stages instead of to the task as a whole.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Asana makes it easy to keep several team members on the same page for shared assignments. It's also easy to track what tasks are getting done by who.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I would highly recommend Asana because it's easy to implement and it's very user friendly. Its appearance and features makes it less intimidating to use than other programs of the same sort. For managers, it makes assigning projects and keeping track of assignments easy.
