Asana is a team's one stop shop

  • April 10, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The best thing about Asana is that you can have multiple tasks in one project, and assign each task to a different person or team. This enables the leader to delegate tasks, and lets everyone involved see everything in the project, but lets them only be notified and bothered by the tasks that directly involve them.
What do you dislike about the product?
The downside of Asana is that because you can have so many tasks in a project, sometimes it's hard to find what you are looking for and you have to dig through folders.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Sharing projects in Asana enables you to collaborate with your coworkers on different teams and make sure everything is getting done and everyone's on the same page

ASANA- user friendly

What do you like best about the product?
I like ASANA for it's easy to use platform, and clarity. It covers all the bases, with scheduling and ability to share or hide lists from team members. it keeps everyone in the team accountable for work that is shared or assigned to each individual member.
What do you dislike about the product?
ASANA does send a lot of emails, with notices on reminders and upcoming deadlines. Though this may be helpful for some, it can be a bit overwhelming.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Working in a team that shares a lot of responsibilities but also splits up the work, this helps in making sure the work is evenly and fairly split up.

Great Project Management Tool

  • April 06, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Robust platform with various ways to manage multiple projects and teams. The card and list forms are easy to use and easy to introduce staff to.
What do you dislike about the product?
The lack of UI options to customize the views that I prefer.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We wanted a platform that allowed us a quick snapshot of the different projects and work colleagues are working on. As the team grew larger, we needed more sigh on where everyone was at and what issues they were facing. We realized that the platform would especially allow upper management to figure out where they should step in to provide input.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you're used to using Trello and similar boards, Asana is a step up with a little more clarity and functionality.

Yup, this is making a positive impact

What do you like best about the product?
Asana is proving to pull a variety of functions that were spread out among email, Slack and other functions. It is pulling the functions together into one place and making the day to day work of my team much more coordinated.
What do you dislike about the product?
My only complaint is learning curve on using the tool. My team has been using Asana for about 4 months and we are still learning a lot about the product.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
This has been key to my teams coordinated functions and work flows. I am finding that I can better manage and coordinate work with this tool.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
You team has to commit to using this tool - don't assume it's easy so everyone will just jump on board - commitment matters.

Asana Review

  • April 04, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like this product because it is easy to manage my own tasks for the day, see what other people on my team may have on their plate, as well as work together by assigning and following tasks with one another.
What do you dislike about the product?
Asana can be a bit difficult to navigate at times. When I first started using the program, it wasn't clear cut how I could assign my task to another person. Now that I've figured the system out, I don't have many complaints!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I work in advertising. It is easy for my team to attach images and plan emails, advertisements, etc. as we are all contributors on a task.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I recommend this for any one that works as a team on projects quite often! It makes managing those tasks and delegation much easier!

A Great Collaboration Project Management Tool

  • April 03, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Asana lets you build a full picture of your tasks and by adding some in-house rules like making sure those tasks MUST fall under a target project it ensures all those tasks are on point, focused and will help move the needle.

If I find myself working on a set of tasks that do not fall under a target project, I can throw them into a hidden "drawing board" project to review and refine later when we're investigating new ideas.
What do you dislike about the product?
Asana offers a lot of powerful tools of which one is the different views you can use to organise your projects. Asana doesn't currently support switching between board view and list view which is a shame as people work best in different ways. This has a knock on effect; if you create a project and add tasks but realise the project would suit the view you didn't choose, you need to recreate the entire board including all the tasks you already created. This has happened to me a few times.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are a multi-faceted organisation with many parts making up the whole. We work on key projects aimed at improving our services and these projects often span several departments. Asana helps us by looping in relevant people on projects whilst maintaining the department structure.

Asana also provides full visibility on what people are working on, so you can monitor pace and offer help if things slow down anywhere.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I recommend setting up internal conventions that people must adhere to and create templates for task requests. The danger with using these kinds of tools is how easy it is to create tasks but forget the assignee has no context/knowledge of that task.

Great project management platform

  • April 02, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Asana is quite user friendly. Asana has helped me keep projects at work organized with easy to use tasks, calendars and reminders. I can invite particular users to collaborate on projects. Asana has an excellent meeting agenda that tracks discussions, agenda items and upcoming topics. When you mark a task completed a cute graphic pops up across your screen. A little motivation to stay on track.
What do you dislike about the product?
I have really not found anything that I don't like about Asana.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Project management and completion.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you are looking for organization for tasks and projects this is an excellent product!

The most flexible project management software

  • April 02, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Asana was the first PM software that I've used. But, after researching and getting to know other tools I abandoned Asana. At that time Asana was good, but not great. Since them I used Trello, Redbooth, Wrike and other tools. Then, in 2016, I decided to give Asana another chance. And I was surprised to see that there were many new functions and A LOT of improvement in the basic features. Nowadays, I think Asana is the best, most complete and most flexible PM software that I've ever used.
What do you dislike about the product?
Its time to put more formatting options for the description and comments areas (Markdown would be great). For newcommers and people that are not used to work with PMs, the interface may be a little overwhelming when compared with other PMs softwares.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Project management, tasks organization and prioritization, team communication and time tracking trough Everhour (integration)
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I think Asana is the best option for "task first" mindsets. The features that it gives the user for breaking tasks in smaller tasks and prioritizing your work, as you get it done, are the very core of this system. For project overviews and complex tasks workflows, maybe other tools are a better fit.

User Friendly Day 1

  • March 30, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
This is a great software for inter-departmental projects, where multiple people play a stake in ensuring the project is completed. It allows you to collaborate easily without all the back and forth emails, ensures that uploads are all in one spot for everyone to see latest versions, and even lets you tag someone in a comments section for tasks if you have questions.
What do you dislike about the product?
The reminder feature is not a robust as other programs I've used. It will send you an email, but I don't see a way for it to give me mobile reminders, or for it to give me pop up reminders while I'm on the site itself. I also don't like that it takes a lot of steps to schedule a recurring task. Once you check off a recurring task, it immediately shows the next one on your to-do list, even if it's months away.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We're in the process of throwing our first ever live/silent auction, with multiple departments involved. This allows us to collaborate and touch base on the live auction, silent auction, our marketing, advtertising, sponsorship team, the decorations committee, etc. all in one place. It is a clear "snapshot" of what needs to be done, and you can assign sub tasks to other people that are required for you to complete a task. For example, if you create a task to "Create the Event Program Design" you can make subtasks for someone else to get you the sponsor's names/logos, and for an entirely different person to provide you with the program timeline, all in one spot!
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you're coming from Trellow or Producteev, or another project management software, this is a great user friendly option for multiple users. If you need a gantt chart though, this one won't work for you.
