    Matthew H.

A powerful project manager on multiple levels

What do you like best about the product?
I like how you can quickly navigate between views in Asana and how you can set up projects easily. I also love how many features are available in just the free version.
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't like that the free version doesn't allow you to set a start and end date for projects. I've also used ClickUp and that allows these features in their free version.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
How to keep internal projects moving - seeing the calendar layout really helps to see what's on tap for that day or week.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Keep in mind that Asana now offers a KanBan feature, so you get a simple "bird's eye view" of work projects.

What do you like best about the product?
I like that it helps me prioritize my tasks and is easy to see the lists in a checklist format. It is great that I can interact on there and especially assign tasks to certain people with due dates.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes messages and assignments can get lost in a sub task if you don't know how to navigate it properly.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
task completion and team task completion
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Make sure everyone is trained properly on the use of the software. I think its fantastic for personal growth and organization as well as team building because it really allows for accountability within a department.

What do you like best about the product?
I've been using asana for years, but the added feature to add a project to multiple boards is a game changer. Asana is an incredibly straightforward tool, with very little room for confusion.
What do you dislike about the product?
Prior to the recent update, it was difficult to manage a task that fell under two different departments or projects.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Asana helps our half remote team easily coordinate schedules and projects without siloing anyone.

What do you like best about the product?
As someone who absolutely loves being organized and making lists, this program is absolutely perfect for me. It helps me to stay on top of all my tasks, as well as the tasks that others are asking me to do.
What do you dislike about the product?
Maybe I simply have not found this yet, but I wish there was a way to find all of the completed tasks. It would be really helpful to be able to see what I have already completed. Maybe there is a way to do this, but I simply have not found it yet
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
If I do not write something down, I will not remember to do it. Asana has helped me to keep a record of everything that I need to do. I also really enjoy the ability to check things off my list, because then I feel accomplished and am able to be more productive through the day.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It is super easy to use and is really helpful to get things done. Just make sure that you are making use of all of the features that is offered! There is so much that can be ignored, because it is not a necessity, but it will make life so much easier.

A great tool for those that like to work from lists

What do you like best about the product?
List items can have their own sublists that are easy to see, a history keeps track of how many tasks have been completed on a graph, can create new tasks via email, and can duplicate tasks or create follow-up tasks. Can create sections so tasks with deadlines can appear in own section near top whereas "Someday" tasks could go into their own section closer to the bottom. I used Asana with a team to start but then continued to use it for my own personal todo list for many years.
What do you dislike about the product?
Cannot easily view nested lists within nested lists (so can only see so much at a time... no way to really expand or collapse to choose exactly how much level of detail you want to see all in one place). And there's not a ton of freedom, versus something like OneNote where you could design a page for all your weekly tasks and then use it as a template from week to week.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Great way to stay organized and stay on top of tasks.

What do you like best about the product?
Asana is the best tool for keeping organized. It's even better when you use it as a team. Cut down on emails and have all your information and tasks in one place!
What do you dislike about the product?
The least helpful part of Asana is the automatic emails when items get completed or changed.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
As a telecommuter, it has saved my sanity and my team uses it to stay organized.

    Education Management

I don’t know how I’ve lived without it

  • May 15, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I love that you can create different boards and lists, integrate everything on each one and organize them... but the cherry on the cake it the subtasks and repeat options!
What do you dislike about the product?
I don’t like how when you repeat a main task that the subtasks repeat with it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Staying organized and on time with projects and due dates

    Marketing and Advertising

Easy to use (and fun!)

What do you like best about the product?
Asana makes project management and getting information to the team. It simplifies the process in a very clear way so you can always find the information you need when you need it. I also love the small details like "tab-B" and spooky mode.
What do you dislike about the product?
It takes a very talented project manager to figure out the best way for it to work for the team. I'm also not crazy about the inability to see what's "due tomorrow" without constantly having to touch your own task list. It takes some getting used to at first.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Fast paced marketing agency where a lot of hands touch each project. Asana has made it easy for you to stay on top of everything.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Consider this project at the top of your list when looking at other small business project management solutions. It can be a finely run machine if you have the right person set it up

What do you like best about the product?
Great functionality, easy to use, and a fantastic way to keep everything organized and stay on top of everything. I use it for every internal process, tracking my clients, and all projects.
What do you dislike about the product?
I'm not a fan of the pricing model. To upgrade I have to purchase a minimum of 5 seats, but I only need 1 seat.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Staying on top of project deadlines, tracking all clients and leads, tracking the tasks of team members, reducing the need for conversation/meetings.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I highly recommend. you must commit to using it and keeping it up to date to get the most value. It helps if you have someone who is dedicated to this.
