project management tool that is the best on the market

  • September 10, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Asana is the best tool on the market in my opinion. I dont want to use anything else. It helped our organization to work more effectively in structuring tasks and work and on this note we can also help other people to identify what they need to work on
What do you dislike about the product?
I dont like that it is only in the brand that they gave it. I much more like it to add my own colors and logos etcetera
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Get work visualized and structure it with other collegeaus
Recommendations to others considering the product:
best tool available

The Go-To Task Management App

  • September 10, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The simplicity and flexibility of usage. The UI is clean and easy to navigate
What do you dislike about the product?
Not enough customization options (dark mode, moving sidebars, hiding sidebars, text & row size)
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The main problem is prioritizing tasks as well as recording/capturing them to avoid forgetting. It is helpful, in staying organized as well for different projects and showing progress to others. It makes delegation and collaboration on projects easier and clear for project members.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
watch the getting started videos and the blogs to learn how to use it properly and well. There are also user case studies that show how some power users utilize the app.

Project Management to Keep Us All Aligned

  • September 09, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Asana provides a very easy to use web interface with mobile application support as well. It is an intuitive drag and drop interface that allows for a lot of room to get things done once you explore how it links into other applications. The gantt chart visualizations really help to understand how we are doing on tasks in relations to timelines as well as overall project progress. Asana helps foster better resource allocation as well.
What do you dislike about the product?
The learning curve can be a bit steep for those who are not technologically savvy (or patient). In addition to individual learning curves, it can be confusing to some to bounce around between different workspaces (I have four myself). It would be wonderful to be able to have a macro look at all projects you are on regardless of workspace location in order to get a more precise and quicker overview of what is happening.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use Asana to manage tasks across a large team for complex research and evaluations. We are able to easily coordinate tasks across units and time constraints allowing the entire team to stay on the same page. Additionally, by assigning tasks which in turn show up on the assignee's calendar, we ensure that we hit our deadlines and produce high caliber products.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It's critical to understand your organization's needs before selecting project management software. What problem(s) are you trying to solve, what information do you need tracked, and what reporting do you need are great places to start. When it comes to Asana, I highly recommend starting with a free account and really working through it (don't forget to check out the help features) to see if it is the solution you truly need.

Asana is great!

  • September 09, 2019

What do you like best about the product?
Asana is the best task management tool I have tried. It has so many features that I'm actually still learning new things about it all the time - which could be a pro or a con. I love being able to build out a project and assign subtasks to myself and others so that we can all be on the same page with less communication. I love being able to attach inspiration images or mockups so you don't have to dig through your files during a meeting. One of my very favorite features, though, is seeing a unicorn or narwhale shoot across my screen when I check off a task. It's so cute and positive.
What do you dislike about the product?
Currently, I use the free version of Asana and I feel like there are a lot of great tools they do NOT provide in the free version however they often email me about those tools and features. I do wish, of course, that I could use the paid version but it's too expensive for our company right now. I believe it's pay per user, so that adds up pretty quickly.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Setting due dates and recurring tasks are VERY helpful for not letting small things slip through the cracks. Prior to Asana, I used Wunderlist, and Asana is just a huge step up in terms of all the customization and automation.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Just give the free version a shot! I think it can seem overwhelming at first, especially if you're transferring tasks over from another platform, but that is probably the best way to learn and to try out different ways of setting it up. I like to organize my tasks utilizing the "my tasks" area under "Today" and "This week" under "TODAY" and "Upcoming" and "Waiting" under "UPCOMING". Then, everything else goes under "LATER" sorted into different projects. It's helpful for me to be able to prioritize by "Today" separately from everything else! Look up tips from others though, and you'll find a way to organize your list that best suits you.

Love Asana!

  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I love Asana for keeping me on track with my projects as well as working cross functionally on projects. In my role I have to work with tons of others across marketing and other functions and being able to keep multiple projects going at once and stay on track is important.
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing I really dislike at the moment, but I do wish it was easier to follow the flow of things being needed at times across teams.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am solving not having to work off google docs for my projects and requests and everyone can see where we stand.

Great Project Management tool

  • September 09, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like how I can customize Asana to my needs and that there are so many options. It is so clear to use and follow. The timeline views for project management are really great for a top level look at how things are moving along.
What do you dislike about the product?
I dislike how easy it is to loose things in the spaces. i think this is more of an issue with the way my organization has organized the spaces, but for me that's the biggest flaw.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are able to track our project progress and plan. The workload balancing feature has also been really helpful for me and my organization.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Play around until you find the right set up for you and your team

Easy visibility, instantly

  • September 08, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The sticky note-like view makes visual organization of project progress a snap, and it's available for free!
What do you dislike about the product?
There can be a steep learning curve and a lot of initial feature shock.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
PR campaigns rely on people - often dispersed - working in concert. This makes the who's doing what, when question a non-factor.

Asana helps me get my work done

  • September 08, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Asana is very very user-friendly. I've never had any technical issues, and it doesn't take me long to navigate the system and see my running to-do list.
What do you dislike about the product?
There isn't much about Asana's tool that I dislike. If I had to pick one, it would be this: I use a lot of different boards (for each week), and since you can only create a board from the far right, I have to drag it to the left each week, which takes a good 30 seconds.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I run my company's marketing team. I use Asana to keep my tasks organized, and have visibility into the status of tasks of my teammates.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I'd recommend having your entire team use the tool. It's the best way to have visibility into progress on specific tasks, which in turn eliminates internal questions.

Great organization product

What do you like best about the product?
It’s a great tool for shared task lists for projects and for supervisors to monitor progress.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes adding people to tasks one by one can be frustrating. I’d like to create a group and add them in all at once
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Asana is best for accountability and sticking to deadlines. You can clearly see where you’re at in a project
