A Single Pane of Glass for Project Management

  • October 09, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
You can view organize your platform by project, and then view those projects by tasks, timeline, or on a calendar, and attach files and message about these projects. Within these projects you can also assign specific tasks to specific people, and they can update the statuses of these tasks. Very user friendly and intuitive!
What do you dislike about the product?
The only thing I dislike about Asana is that it's a separate tab I have to consciously remember to open and update, in addition to my email, calendar, and other project management tools. Asana is also not ideal for data collection ie. how long it's taking specific people to do specific tasks.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Asana provides a single pane of glass to manage projects and keep project participants, tasks, and timelines organized.

Very flexible platform, it can be very useful as long as you have a strong process and culture.

What do you like best about the product?
The interface is friendly, the platform is easy to understand and to use and it`s flexible enough so you can create and manage projects in different ways. One thing that I missed was launched recently, which is project timelines management
What do you dislike about the product?
The flexibility can be a problem as you can use the platform in so many different ways that if you don`t have a very established process you can miss tasks or lose control and using the platform won`t be helpful at all.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Project/tasks management both for product sprints/management and for marketing projects. It helped us to organize and prioritize tasks for each sprint.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
There are plenty of solutions in the market, you need to understand which is better for your needs and for your process.

Asana needs some UX help

  • October 09, 2018

What do you like best about the product?
I like how Asana uses an outline design format, allowing you to detail projects in a bullet point-like fashion. It makes it easy to see a project at a glance.
What do you dislike about the product?
The interface feels clunky at times to navigate. For example, it would be so much more user friendly if users could resize panels according to their preferred size. But Asana is not truly responsive because it has a minimum width it must be open to in order to see all the content.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The company uses Asana to outline podcast projects, parts of which are assigned to different people on the team.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Asana does its job well, but for low-level users of the program like me, it doesn't have great adaptability to my preferences that would make me want to use the product more. Rather, I use it because I have to, and put up with its limitations because it's the company's software of choice.

Product over average

What do you like best about the product?
The easiest way to manage team tasks and projects. Asana offers everything you need to be synchronized, meet deadlines and achieve your goals. Easy to use and easy to set up. All the time was happy with the app. Very visual.
What do you dislike about the product?
It has some similar areas which confuses and causes that in the end they are divided into two groups. The price would be another flaw, there are few members per team and then each member costs individually, there are no good offers for large groups unless you contact with them.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I visualized my work and the work of my collegues. I made my work and the other's work advance through the various stages of the project with speed, ease and excellence.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I recommend Asana to campanies where people have to work togheter and syncronization is very important. It is easy to use and set up, and visually looks fine, what improves your experience. You won't regret it.

Great for keeping things organized

  • October 05, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The organization, ability to assign task to others, and the liking and commenting features. Overall it's a really great organizational tool, although it does work better if everyone is using it consistently, otherwise things can get lost by people not checking their Asana and seeing what's been assigned to them.
What do you dislike about the product?
If some people are using only Asana for creating and assigning tasks to people, but some people don't use it as frequently, things can get lost in the shuffle. It's really nothing against Asana itself, more on how people us it. Although I would say their notification settings aren't great, it's pretty much either all (where you're getting emails all the time for every little thing) or nothing. This can feed into that problem, if you have your email notification off, you have to go actually check Asana, so if you don't you might miss stuff, and you can't just set the notifications to email when a new task is assigned.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Keeping some projects and tasks better organized, and helping people view what's going on within a team.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Make sure your whole team is on board with implementing Asana for project assignment, otherwise stuff might slip through the cracks from people not checking it. Also, they have amazing walkthroughs for all sorts of stuff, so you can find the answer to pretty much any question pretty easily.

A very good estructurated tool

  • September 20, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
You have a lot of options for customize your planning, is a very good estructurated tool with a nice hierarchy for improvement your workflow and your capacity of work if all your members finish their task in time.
What do you dislike about the product?
We used both kind of accounts, free and premium, for a not very complete use, free account is more usefull than premium, with a limit of 5 members in your projects.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are trying to get a better workflow and our planning for get successful
Recommendations to others considering the product:
We are still implementing it, we have 2 kind of accounts, some free, some premium, we are comparing the use of free ones with premium ones, at this moment we are not very happy to pay an expensive service that offers a really difficult solution, creating it more problems coordinating all of us in Asana that in other platforms, is not a bad tool, but you must to test it before and know what can offer it to you, because if you pay before of it, maybe you will not be happy with this.

Asana_ Good, not great

  • September 19, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Everything is in one place and in a linear fashion. This helps keep agendas on track and easy to follow along with the many tasks included in projects. You can also follow the conversations that go along with those tasks easily.
What do you dislike about the product?
It is very difficult to figure out how to add tasks and details to an already existing task. It is not intuitive where to click to see details about a task or a project.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use Asana to keep a large group of people involved and informed on the various projects we are all working on at once. We also use it to set meeting agendas and prioritize tasks/projects.

Asana

What do you like best about the product?
I like being able to share lists for projects between team members. It makes it easier to keep track of what needs to be done for each project in an organized fashion.
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't like the calendar view. It cuts of task due dates if there are so many in a day. It also won't allow me to select a specific month or date range to view.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Making sure that everything gets done. It has made the office more aware of just how much work everything entails, so coworkers are more focused on finishing each task at hand.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Great to use if you don't need a calendar view. Helps keep projects organized and on track.

It's ok

  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like Asana because it's reliable and I feel like it's a very versatile tool because all you need is a project and Asana has got your back. You can even use it outside of work for just to do lists and other plans you might have!
What do you dislike about the product?
What I don't like however is that I feel like it's half baked; there are a lot of obvious useful features that just aren't offered. For example copying a task is available online but not on the app.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use it as our to ticketing system. It works well because we can submit an issue, and other people can comment and update what's been done or needs to be done and because it's highly customizable, we can add our own priorities, and other info. It gets the job done.

Asana for work

  • August 07, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Asana is easy enough to use and that makes adoption easy. The best part was that it made change management easy and I got the whole organisation to switch over from Trello. It made project management easy and intuitive. The Board feature makes it easy to see tasks at hand and is a good visual representation of all the work.
What do you dislike about the product?
There needs to be a better calendar feature within Asana. The current calendar is split across groups and makes it difficult to give a general overview of the organisation and all the team's involvement. The fact that to track progress of each project I need to pay extra, is annoying. It would have been a lot better if I could keep track of projects via prioritizing them according to urgency.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The biggest task for me was to set up the organisation's structure and operationalise all the tasks in one place. As a project management tool, Asana was able to provide me with that value. It's easy to use, so for people who have never used Asana before, it was easy to get started.
