Although its a nice product , but still it lacks in some areas like there are somethings that can be improved like its UI and UX can be more easier and loading of the pages and navigation among the .different screens in the tool can be made faster.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I have been using the product for some time in my work place. It has made the life easier and management of the projects and tasks has been much easier.

What do you like best about the product?
I love the new charting / dependency tools. I love the easy to user interface. Everything is very well thought out and intuitive to grasp. The help videos and blogs are fantastic and make this an easy to pick up system.
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't like how subtasks/sub-subtasks get lost for daily workers. For example. The primary task when visiting a project is assigned to a project lead such as finish Services website pages. Now we have sub tasks such as create content and find images. Within those sub tasks we have tens of sub-subtasks. Assigning each image or each page of content to a specific person. When I come to a project, the view presented gives me no indication that I have work to do on the main task. I spend tons of time jacking with searches and filters to find my work. I have hundreds of things assigned to me at any given moment. Sorting my tasks by project results in tons of traversing up the tasks tree to understand the context of the assignment.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Organization. Communication. Status Updates without interrupting work.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Asana is a great tool. You get into it what you get out of it. When you scale an organization and/or work on huge projects you need to remember asana doesn't replace project administration. It assists it like a precision tool. You have to have a plan of how to structure and implement the project in Asana prior to the project. Get your team trained early.

What do you like best about the product?
I like the feature that you can assign people and send them the notification to let them know about the task. Also, being able to set the due dates is also helpful.
What do you dislike about the product?
- A lot of email traffic.. Sending notification is good however, every single change that you make , other people are getting notofied which this sometimes might be disturbing for other people.
- If you're using basic plan , you cannot get the gantt chart feature which I think it is a key feature for a project management tool
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
As a company we have a lot of projects either small or big and sometimes it is getting hard to follow each of them. So, to have a clear instructions and being able to see who is responsible from each subtasks make the project more efficient and help it to move faster.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It is a good start for small size companies to keep track of their projects. but if you have recourses , I think you should consider having a business account cause seems like upgraded version has more useful features.

Asana is great for organizing purposes. I enjoy using the dashboard function because I can create tasks and check them off as I complete them.
What do you dislike about the product?
I dislike that they will be removing the dashboard function.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Asana has improved our team's communication. My team and I are able to assign task to anyone within our company, and we're able to track the task's and projects that we create.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Asana is great because it improves communication within the company and allows you to keep track of projects and tasks.

What do you like best about the product?
Love the timeline feature, and the ease of use.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are a few features that just don’t work logically, or are otherwise complicated where they don’t need to be.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It’s hands down the easiest tool (timeline) to plan a project with. Saves a lot of time and headaches there.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Give it a true trial run before implementing fully. There are some things that you’ll only find out through putting it to the test.

I'm slowly learning the benefits to using asana

  • October 26, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I started using asana about five months ago when I joined a new team. Prior to asana I was using monday. asana is great in that it gives the entire team visibility on what everyone is working on at one time. After taking some time to learn it, I find it fairly straightforward to use. I love the board view most, and I don't tend to stray from that.
What do you dislike about the product?
There isn't anything I really dislike about asana. I tend to stick to the board view as my team doesn't always have strict deadlines, so the calendar view is a bit pointless for us. I also get a little overwhelmed when I view my own tasks, hence the reason I prefer the board. What can be annoying is that if I get assigned a task by another team it shows up on their board but they don't tag it or add it to mine so I can only see it in the tasks. I often miss these as I don't check boards across the company. I do however think this is something we need to fix internally and not a shortcoming on asana's side.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Asana gives the entire company visibility on what all teams are working on. I can easily view another team's board to understand what they are doing and where my given priorities lie for them. It allows me to better plan my own work and give realistic timeframes to materials my team is creating.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I think you should at least give it a try. It is overwhelming to begin with, but if you take it one step at a time and learn how to use it properly you'll see the benefits.

A great tool

What do you like best about the product?
We have been using Asana for a long time and recently we moved away from Asana and moving towards implementing VersionOne system. I would say Asana worked fine for us but managers belived that VersionOne has more to offer.
What do you dislike about the product?
Tasking is something I did not like fully in Asana. VersionOne on the other hand is flawless in that regards. For my work It does not really impact too much but for my team it does therefore I am for VersionOne to make my team more efficient.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I mean there were no specific business gains we were hoping for but Asana was a good tool to use. Further more I like that VersionOne has made our life much eaiser with easy access tool.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
its a good tool but there are new tools out there that are better than asana

What do you like best about the product?
I like being able to organize myself and my coworkers in a sigle app with a lot of options. It's a web focused on improving team's productivity and it is obvious from the first minute. I like the care and effort they put to do a complete web application.
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't like th desing and for me I was difficult to get in. Sometimes I though I had too much options to learn about, I've needed a youtube tutorial to understand how all works.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Team management and task management mainly. Also coworkership, obviously. We benefit from collaboraion and scheduling, so we improved our productivity.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I recommend to at least try asana. I f you get how it works quickly, it becomes a powerful we application and it's useful to imrpove your productivity. I do not recommend to spend money on asana having other options, I tried it and I think we are going to stop using the paid version.

Task Management for Individuals and Groups

  • October 12, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Since its rollout, Asana has been one of the better task-oriented platforms for individuals and teams. It has a very nice UI, and provides a robust set of options for amplifying, tracking, organizing, and timing tasks. For practitioners and groups who work in a task-oriented culture, it's hard to beat.
What do you dislike about the product?
As with most products in this category, Asana delivers as advertised. For teams who want to keep information at a high level--like MS Project teams--Asana is going to feel like overkill. Teams wanting to keep detail and data relationships will find a lot of great avenues within the product.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
When I consult with teams that have a task or checklist culture, I recommend Asana as a way to start amplifying task information, most often associated with keeping better metrics (time per event, planned vs. actual, etc.) It's simple to implement and intuitive enough to get started quickly.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Always use a tool that most closely fits your culture. If task-oriented, this will be a good fit.
