Testing in BrowserStack as PM
What do you like best about the product?
Ability to use different devices and see the network information (requests and responses)
What do you dislike about the product?
Stability: sometimes it just stops working (especially with network being on)
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Make sure that apps work on different device; troubleshot and fix problems faster
It has been easy to use and loaded with features
What do you like best about the product?
I like the ease of access and the user friendly interface.
What do you dislike about the product?
I do not like that I cant test more than one device at a time and the occasional 'Browserstack-ism' that I have to check with team mate to ensure it isnt an error in OUR functionality.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It solves the issue of cross testing on multiple devices. We need this to provide a good baseline user experience.
Good tool for cross browser testing
What do you like best about the product?
BrowserStack has been helpful for cross-browser testing. It allows us to test our app on different browsers and mobile devices, which is crucial for ensuring compatibility. The interface is simple to use, and setting up tests is quick. It integrates well with our existing CI/CD setup.
One feature I really appreciate is the ability to test on real devices, which helps catch issues that might not appear in a simulated environment.
Overall, it’s a great tool that has improved our testing process

What do you dislike about the product?
One thing I would like to see improved is the performance when testing via VPN. It tends to slow down the device, which can affect the overall test cycle time. Other than that, it’s been a reliable tool
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
BrowserStack solves the problem of cross-browser and cross-device testing, allowing us to ensure our application works properly for all users, regardless of the browser or device they're using. It benefits us by providing a seamless way to run tests on real devices and different OS versions without needing to set up and maintain multiple physical devices
If you need it, you need it
What do you like best about the product?
Quick access to many different systems, you can't have that many devices. If you want to debug display errors on exotic devices, there's nothing better. The different versions also allow testing of "older devices."
What do you dislike about the product?
Many of the advanced features do not work reliably. Sometimes it works, then it's broken again.
The clipboard only works very unreliably for me. Alternatives should be offered here. If stable integration is not possible, I would be satisfied with a text input where I can "paste."
The camera feed is not reliably supported. In Firefox, I currently don't get a camera, the VR mode of Chrome where you can walk through an apartment and upload pictures currently crashes in S32 (Chrome crashes every time).
Local testing is too limited. The tunnel to localhost is useless for the integration of third-party services, as they only run under localhost (in dev mode) or under the production URL. Scandit, for example, blocks usage if it does not happen from localhost, so the integration cannot be tested. Access via bs-local.com is not possible.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Validation of mobile website. With BrowserStack, we check if everything is rendered as desired. If problems occur, it assists in debugging.

What do you dislike about the product?
There are certain limitations/features that need to be introduced by the BS team because of which currently my team and I face issues.
But I'm pretty sure they are looking into it; timely connects are done by our organization and the BS team to resolve it asap.

What do you dislike about the product?
In terms of what we do fo rmanual testing, browser stack works great.
Their automated visual testing isn't great yet.
Percy is the tool that they have for automated visual testing. It is good for testing a few sets of pages, but not quite there yet in terms of easiness to integrate to our automated test jobs via jenkins/github actions.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It solves the problem to us needing to test on multiple actual devices. People can test on multiple devices even when they are working from home (wasn't possible if we wanted actual devices). Also it helps us not rely on emulators anymore.
Thus, It saves a lot of time, and helps us release things with confidence.

Can be very helpful for testing but has some drawbacks
What do you like best about the product?
1. Wide selection of devices and OS.
2. Real device testing.
2. Real device testing.
What do you dislike about the product?
1. Limited control over the testing env and devices.
2. Application tends to freeze a lot during testing and required reload that consumes a lot of time on restarting and retaking steps - probably the biggest downside during work for me.
3. Challenging to set up testing if you are on VPN.
4. Observed UI issues on BrowserStack devices but did not observed same UI issues on real devices with the same OS.
