    Shai S.

reliable solution that covers a wide range of testing needs

  • June 16, 2022
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Ease of use, the ability to use Devtools on mobile, device variety, and local hosts usage.
What do you dislike about the product?
on rare occasions, I'm not able to reproduce issues on BrowserStack that I do reproduce on a physical device I am holding
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
There's just no way we could purchase and maintain a big enough device variety for relevant, up-to-date testing. Browserstack gives us that.

Percy gives your app a trapeze artists safety net

  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
* Percy visual diffing
* Ease of pairing with automation tools
* Capturing test failures with an API that was down
* Cypress.io
* There are other visual diff tools but well
What do you dislike about the product?
* It's hard to deal with waveform and custom css at times.
* There are often strange anomalies in the diffs that are hard to debug
* Dynamic elements like notification counters and 3rd party lib insertion is hard to test
* It's challenging in a cognito environment
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
They are solving the problem of not being aware of unintended changes during development and testing. It definitely helps us to be more productive during premerge dev cycles.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Percy is a game changing way to develop web applications. You catch all kinds of unintended consequences and when paired with Cypress it becomes a really effective testing tool.

Browserstack is a great tool for integration testing

  • June 16, 2022
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Browserstack is by far the most comfortable and powerful tool for testing in a browser environment. It supports all kinds of browsers, including Chrome, Firefox, and even IE. It also provides different kinds of Operating Systems, including macOS, Windows, and Linux.
What do you dislike about the product?
Maybe a bit slow when switching between different OS, and sometimes when I try to access the localhost, it didn't work. Would be great if it can store all user's passwords and custom fields in a form under a specific url.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Before, I had to buy and use my own machines to test our frontEnd under different OS and browsers. It benefits me when I try to test our web pages in a local environment. I can test it on different screen resolutions and browsers.

A very good platform to perform cross browser testing.

What do you like best about the product?
The app is pretty reliable. The Support team is very responsive. The turnaround time has been low and I quite liked that.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are issues with Copy+Paste. The second thing is that the menu is always on the screen. I can dock that, but that makes the screen smaller. Taking screenshots can be a bit challenging with that in place.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I have mentioned before, that it helps in doing cross-browser testing and that is very helpful, as I can cover a lot in a single platform. Besides, we always get the latest version of any browser, which makes it even better.

Testing on real mobile devices

  • June 16, 2022
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
It's not a simulator. You are testing on real devices
What do you dislike about the product?
When testing mobile apps you always start from a fresh installation. No configuration or state is saved.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Testing of websites and mobile applications on real mobile devices.

A great testing suite with a good variety of devices.

  • June 16, 2022
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The amount of different devices you can choose from when testing sites. The version control is also quite useful when trying to recreate issues.
What do you dislike about the product?
Inability to choose the data centre. It can get slow during busier times and Browserstack seems to connect to the Netherlands when there are closer data centres available.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I test sites on various devices and browsers to make sure it is consistent. It allows me to execute the tests without having to purchase and own a vast amount of devices.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you need a tool to test on various devices with the ability to test previous versions of OS and browsers, Browserstack really does the job.

I cannot customize session time in settings (extend it)
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Multiple OSs and devices in one place

Browserstack is a reliable partner of our team to provide customers with the best online experience

  • June 15, 2022
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
We like how simple it is to test new developments on such a large variety of devices and environments. With Browserstack, moving from VS Code to a real-world test is effortless.
What do you dislike about the product?
Just one thing: the automatic disconnection was a mess in the very first days, but now we consider it the right way to do it. Sometimes it could help to set a longer disconnection time.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The first problem solved by Browserstack has been money saving. Since it is impossible to test physical devices of any kind, primarily because of the cost to have and maintain them in a good state, it provides the best and most affordable alternative.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Use it and save your time. Focus on content and layout without wasting time on your device testing.

Does what it needs to and does it well

What do you like best about the product?
It has everything we need to test out the websites we create on different browsers.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes it is a bit slow to connect to a virtual machine and in some cases the image quality could be better.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have access to browsers that we otherwise don't use and can see if a website we made renders correctly before our clients find any issues.

Happy and have suggestions

What do you like best about the product?
Live testing. Devices are always available. That's a great feature compared to competition.
I like that we can install from the Stores, switch apps while testing.
What do you dislike about the product?
Use of proxy for communications. The app I test are most of the time requiring extra security (valid certs, valid cert chains, etc...) and many times, I cannot test my apps because they detect unsercured communication. I believe that your proxys use a cert but no FQDN so that's not a valid use of a cert. I contacted your support, they mentioned that to be able to have a list of your infrastruture IPs, I would have to subscribe for Enterprise account....

I also need to know what is your Keystore SHA-1 used for resigning aab files. My Android apps are protected against resigning. when you guys resign it for installing it, it make my apps not able to run. I can prepare the app to be resigned but I need to know what is your Keystore SHA-1 for that.

I don't like that I cannot extract iOS crash logs....The very purpose of your platform is test, if I cannot get the crash logs....I miss a big chunk of useful data.

I'd love to see more devices...it's kinda limited on the Android side.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I can test apps on devices / OS version I do not have physical devices for.

I use an appium script for automated testing of my apps.

I LOVE that the iOS app is resigned before being installed because that saved me a resigning step and use of an enterprise provisioning profile, this is awesome.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
None really. It is a great service and easy to use.
