Access Management using Sailpoint
What do you like best about the product?
Sailpoint streamlines the process of raising requests for several access or apps for myself or my entire team.
The workflow even identifies the steps on which the request is currently at so that I can ask the respective approver to work on that effectively.I use it mostly for internal use and every time a new joiner is on-boarded. We have a set of apps and accesses needed to work on the Development team and all of it is taken care using Sailpoint. The integration is proving to be better than the usual JIRA or ITHELP requests.

What do you dislike about the product?
The managers have to review who has access to what can feel old-fashioned and confusing. It can make a simple task harder than it should be. Sailpoint allows to make the tool do almost anything with custom code, that can backfire. When it's time to update to a new version, all that special code can break, creating a lot of extra, unexpected work.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Raising access requests for my team is so much simpler now, I can easily request apps or permissions for myself or for multiple people at once.
What I really appreciate is how simple the workflow is. I can always see exactly where a request is stuck, which means I know who to approach next without guessing. It saves us all a lot of time.

SailPoint Makes Identity Governance and Access Workflows Effortless
What do you like best about the product?
SailPoint is one of the best tools for identity and governance management. I currently use this tool in my company, and as a SailPoint developer I find it very helpful for handling access requests, policies, certifications, and many other features that I use regularly. It’s an industry-recommended tool for any company that wants to control and manage its identity workflow effectively.
What do you dislike about the product?
From my side, there’s nothing I dislike about this tool based on my usage. In fact, it makes my work easier and helps me understand my users better.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I can point out more than five benefits. When I want to check whether a user needs access or not, I can simply use the certification to verify if they really need it. Using policies also helps me restrict users who are not eligible for certain kinds of actions. In addition, I can connect to multiple target applications, and for each application I can update or delete from SailPoint itself. Overall, there are many benefits in SailPoint.
Identity Governance & Access provisioning made easy by Sailpoint
What do you like best about the product?
I like SailPoint's strong identity governance capability, which provides centralized visibility, automated access control, and auditability. These features enforce governance controls while delivering clear and auditable evidence across user access management, helping to reduce the overall risk of identity-related threats.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes it can be complex to implement in hybrid infrastructure and legacy applications. In these situations, it requires customized connectors and ongoing tuning to make it work. I wasn't part of the implementation team, but I think they spent around 4-6 months to completely roll this out to production. I guess it was not easy.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
SailPoint centralizes identity governance by automating user access provisioning and deprovisioning, which reduces manual effort. It enforces governance controls, offers centralized visibility into user access, and improves auditability. Overall, it helps reduce risk related to identity threats. We've been able to achieve success at affirm by onboarding Sailpoint to manage all our SaaS tools and Cloud environment access management. The ease of configuring the entitlement management and providing fine grained access control actually helped us to follow Principle of least privilege and have a better security posture for the organisation.
Effortless Setup, Yet Limited Customization
What do you like best about the product?
I find SailPoint easy to set up and deploy, which simplifies the initial implementation process and reduces the time and resources needed to get the system running effectively. Additionally, I appreciate SailPoint's ability to connect with a variety of target services, enhancing its flexibility and allowing for seamless integration with existing infrastructure. This connectivity ensures that my identity governance and administration tasks are well-coordinated and efficiently managed, which is crucial for maintaining security and compliance within our organization.
What do you dislike about the product?
SailPoint offers very limited customization possibilities.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use SailPoint for provisioning, RBAC, and automating access requests, certifications, and approvals, which simplifies identity governance and administration.

What do you like best about the product?
SailPoint provides outstanding orchestration and governance capabilities that, when properly implemented, can significantly strengthen identity lifecycle management across the enterprise. Its ability to centralize and enforce IGA controls is one of its greatest strengths—allowing organizations to automate complex workflows, maintain compliance, and improve operational efficiency.
However, realizing this value depends heavily on a well-structured deployment and standardized utilization. The platform offers strong ease of use once processes are established, but it’s not a simple “plug and play” solution. To unlock its full potential, organizations must invest the time to design thoughtful governance models, align business processes, and maintain disciplined operational practices.
When these elements are in place, SailPoint delivers impressive results: streamlined provisioning, stronger security postures, and better visibility and control over identities and access across the environment.

What do you dislike about the product?
While SailPoint is a strong platform, it can become overly complex when organizations lean too heavily on customizations. Excessive tailoring often introduces unnecessary technical debt, making upgrades and long-term maintenance more difficult.
In SailPoint IIQ specifically, it can be challenging to get clean, easily interpretable data to fully understand the underlying logic and processes. This can slow down troubleshooting and limit visibility for teams who weren’t part of the original build. Additionally, application onboarding in IIQ can be cumbersome and time-consuming, often requiring significant engineering effort and coordination.
Although SailPoint Identity Security Cloud (ISC) introduces new features that address many of these pain points—such as standardized connectors and improved onboarding frameworks—IIQ still places the burden on the organization to manage complexity carefully. For teams still on IIQ, these challenges can impact ease of use and slow the pace of identity governance modernization.
