This product has charges associated with it for Hanwei's integration of Nginx, Certbot with the Nginx plugin, fail2ban, curl, jq, and AWS CLI v2 on Ubuntu 26.04 LTS, plus security headers, security hardening, optimized performance configuration, unattended updates, and AMI preparation.

    Overview

This product provides Nginx integrated with Certbot, the Certbot Nginx plugin, fail2ban, curl, jq, and AWS CLI v2 on Ubuntu 26.04 LTS. Hanwei delivers the environment as an Amazon Machine Image (AMI) with a versioned security-hardening and optimized performance configuration, selected HTTP security headers, hidden Nginx version tokens, key-only SSH access, and unattended operating-system security updates.

Marketplace software charges cover Hanwei's integration of the web-server, certificate-management, log-response, scripting, and AWS command-line layers; application of the security-hardening and optimized performance configuration; operating-system preparation; and AMI construction. Hanwei support is supplementary and is not the sole basis for the software charges.

What Hanwei Adds to Upstream Nginx

    • Integrated web-server environment: Nginx is installed and prepared with Certbot, the Nginx plugin, fail2ban, curl, jq, and AWS CLI v2 on Ubuntu 26.04 LTS.
    • Certificate-management tooling: Certbot and its Nginx plugin are included to support customer-requested Let's Encrypt certificate issuance, Nginx TLS configuration, and renewal. Certificate issuance is not automatic without a customer-controlled domain, valid DNS, reachable ACME challenge path, Let's Encrypt agreement, and successful validation.
    • Log-based response tooling: fail2ban is included for customer-reviewed, log-based blocking rules. Its effect depends on the enabled jails, filters, log paths, actions, firewall backend, thresholds, and application traffic; it is not a replacement for application security controls or AWS WAF.
    • Security-hardening baseline: SSH uses key-pair authentication. Nginx version tokens are hidden, and X-Frame-Options and X-Content-Type-Options headers are configured. An HSTS configuration is supplied for use after valid HTTPS is established and its domain scope is reviewed.
    • Optimized performance configuration: Hanwei supplies a versioned Nginx and operating-system configuration for reverse-proxy, load-balancing, and static-content starting points. Workload-specific throughput, latency, concurrency, connection limits, cache behavior, and capacity depend on customer configuration, backend behavior, content, TLS, and the selected EC2 instance.
    • Unattended operating-system security updates: Ubuntu unattended-upgrades is enabled for configured security updates. Customers should review the repositories, package scope, schedule, restart behavior, and operational impact after launch.

    Highlights

    • Nginx, Certbot with the Nginx plugin, fail2ban, curl, jq, and AWS CLI v2 are integrated on Ubuntu 26.04 LTS.
    • Hanwei applies versioned security-hardening and optimized performance configuration, hides Nginx version tokens, and supplies selected HTTP security headers.
    • unattended-upgrades is configured, with bounded validation for Nginx, Certbot tooling, fail2ban, headers, and first-boot/reboot behavior.
