    Dimensions summary

You pay by the hour for this hardened Ubuntu image with NGINX, based on the EC2 instance type you choose. All 62 options bill the same way; they differ only by underlying compute size and family. General-purpose (m5a, m3, t2, t3, t3a), compute-optimized (c3, c4, c5, c5a), memory-optimized (r3, r5, r5a, r6a, i3), GPU (g3, g5, p2, p3), and HPC (hpc7a) families are available. Larger instances carry higher hourly rates. Your total cost scales with the instance size and how many hours you run it.

    Top-of-mind questions for buyers

You are billed for each hour the selected EC2 instance runs with this image. Fully stopped instances do not accrue software charges. Stopped instances may still incur AWS storage fees for attached volumes, but the software licence meters running time only.
Each family targets a workload type. General-purpose (m, t) balances compute and memory. Compute-optimized (c) favors processing-heavy tasks. Memory-optimized (r, i) suits large in-memory data. GPU families (g, p) handle graphics or accelerated compute. HPC (hpc7a) fits high-performance computing. You pick the family and size that match your NGINX workload.
The image ships with a security-hardened Ubuntu 22.04 LTS base and NGINX preconfigured. Hardening aligns with DISA STIG, PCI-DSS, HIPAA, and NIST frameworks. Images are validated and updated regularly with security patches, so you deploy a compliance-ready configuration without manual hardening steps.
