You buy this VMware workload assessment as a contract, priced by the number of virtual machines (VMs) you plan to migrate or modernize. Pricing scales through four VM-count brackets. Tier 1 covers 0-1,000 VMs, Tier 2 covers 1,001-3,000 VMs, and Tier 3 covers 3,001-5,000 VMs. You pick the tier that matches your estate size. Tier 4 applies to estates of 5,001 or more VMs; for that band, you contact the vendor for a private offer instead of a listed price. Larger estates fall into higher tiers.

What counts as one VM for tier pricing?
Each virtual machine in your VMware estate counts as one unit. The assessment scans your vSphere environment, including VMs, clusters, and dependencies. VMs sharing a physical host still count separately. Your total VM count decides which tier bracket your purchase falls into.
What happens to my price if my VM count crosses a tier boundary?
The tier you pick must match your total VM count. If your estate grows past a bracket, for example from Tier 1 into Tier 2, you move to the tier covering your full count. Estates of 5,001 or more VMs fall into Tier 4, priced through a private offer.
What does the assessment cover beyond counting VMs?
The assessment scans source code, runtime, and deployment artifacts, even without source code. It maps dependencies, scores each workload, and recommends a migration path: rehost, replatform, or refactor. Processing runs inside your security perimeter with air-gapped, no-data-exfiltration deployment. It works for legacy and vendor-managed systems.
