CHAI automates application discovery, assessment, and containerized modernization for SMBs migrating from VMware or on-premises to AWS using patented Trivector Assessment to compress timelines from months to weeks.
Modernize Your Applications from Anywhere to AWS in Weeks, Not Months
CHAI is CloudHedge's integrated platform that takes small businesses from application discovery through containerized deployment on AWS - without requiring large teams or months of consulting engagements.
How CHAI Works
CHAI DART (Assessment Engine) employs patented Trivector Assessment methodology, analyzing source code, runtime behavior, and workload characteristics simultaneously. Powered by 100+ specialized AI agents, DART automates:
Application discovery and dependency mapping
Technical-debt scoring and risk ranking
Cost-to-migrate modeling across all migration strategies
Recommendations for optimal modernization paths
DART operates with or without source code access, enabling assessment of brownfield and black-box applications.
CHAI Flow (Execution Engine) orchestrates the modernization workflow through multi-agent collaboration:
Automated containerization and deployment to AWS services (ECS, EKS, Lambda)
Self-correcting modernization with continuous testing and validation
DevOps pipeline generation and observability setup
Minimal manual intervention required throughout execution
Requirements and Supported Environments
CHAI is deployed as an AMI on AWS infrastructure. The platform supports assessment of applications running on VMware and on-premises environments, including both Linux and Windows workloads. CHAI can operate in air-gapped environments with zero data exfiltration, making it suitable for regulated industries. Contact CloudHedge for specific instance sizing recommendations based on your portfolio size.
Getting Started
After subscribing, launch the CHAI AMI and access the platform UI to begin your first assessment. CHAI DART can scan your environment and deliver risk-ranked modernization recommendations. Once you approve the plan, CHAI Flow executes the migration with continuous validation.

Why Small Businesses Choose CHAI
Faster time-to-value - Compress what traditionally takes months of consulting engagements into weeks of automated execution
No large team required - AI agents handle discovery, assessment, and execution tasks that would otherwise require specialized expertise
Reduced risk - Patented Trivector Assessment identifies issues before migration, not after
Cost clarity - Understand your true cost-to-migrate before committing resources
End-to-end coverage - One platform handles assessment through execution, eliminating tool sprawl
Use Case Example
A small financial services firm running 20-50 legacy applications on VMware can use CHAI DART to discover all application dependencies, score technical debt, and model migration costs - then use CHAI Flow to automatically containerize and deploy workloads to Amazon EKS with compliance controls intact, compressing a typical 6-month consulting engagement into weeks of automated execution.
Security and Compliance
CHAI supports deployment in air-gapped environments with zero data exfiltration, making it suitable for regulated industries including financial services and healthcare. The platform can operate entirely within your network boundary, ensuring sensitive application data never leaves your environment.
AWS Integration
CHAI deploys on AWS infrastructure and targets AWS-native services for modernized workloads, including Amazon ECS, Amazon EKS and associated networking and storage services. The platform integrates with AWS migration & DevOps tooling for CI/CD pipeline generation.
Evaluation & Next Steps
Subscribe to begin your modernization journey. For organizations that want to evaluate CHAI before committing, CloudHedge offers guided discovery sessions where the team walks through your specific environment and demonstrates assessment capabilities. Highlights
Patented Trivector Assessment analyzes runtime behavior, workload characteristics - with or without source code access - to deliver risk-ranked modernization recommendations and cost-to-migrate models. This multi-dimensional approach identifies migration risks before execution begins, giving small businesses confidence in their modernization plan before committing resources to the migration itself.
100+ Specialized AI Agents automate the full modernization lifecycle - from application discovery and dependency mapping through containerization and deployment to AWS services (ECS, EKS, Lambda). Small teams can execute enterprise-grade migrations without hiring large consulting firms or building specialized internal expertise, compressing what traditionally takes months of manual effort into weeks of automated execution.
End-to-End Platform with Self-Correcting Execution covers assessment through deployment in one platform. CHAI DART discovers and plans while CHAI Flow executes with continuous testing, validation, and automated error correction at every stage. Air-gapped deployment support with zero data exfiltration makes CHAI suitable for regulated industries including financial services and healthcare.
AWS Marketplace now accepts line of credit payments through the PNC Vendor Finance program. This program is available to select AWS customers in the US, excluding NV, NC, ND, TN, & VT.
Pricing is based on the duration and terms of your contract with the vendor. This entitles you to a specified quantity of use for the contract duration. If you choose not to renew or replace your contract before it ends, access to these entitlements will expire.
Additional AWS infrastructure costs may apply. Use the AWS Pricing Calculator to estimate your infrastructure costs.
You pick a tier based on how many virtual machines (VMs) you migrate or modernize. Tier 1 covers 1-50 VMs, Tier 2 covers 51-100 VMs, and Tier 3 covers 101-500 VMs. Each tier maps to a larger estate, so pricing scales with the number of VMs in your project. Tier 4 handles estates of 501 or more VMs and does not carry a set price; you contact the vendor for a private offer. Licensing meters per application through the platform, so the cost ceiling is known before work starts.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What counts as one VM for billing purposes across the tiers?
A VM is a discovered virtual machine in your agreed estate, counted at the assessment from the actual inventory rather than an estimate. Your tier is set by that count. Licensing also meters per application through the platform, so the platform cost ceiling is known before work starts.
What happens if my discovered VM count lands at a different tier than expected?
Your tier comes from the discovered inventory at the assessment, not from a call estimate. If your count exceeds 500 VMs, you move to Tier 4, which has no set price and requires a private offer. The free readiness assessment identifies your band before you commit.
What work is not covered by the tier price?
The engagement excludes application rewrites, new feature development, mainframe and AS/400 workloads, and vendor-managed platforms. Database conversion is a separate add-on. Managed operations after cutover need a separate agreement. Network and identity redesign beyond migration needs is also out of scope.

An AMI is a virtual image that provides the information required to launch an instance. Amazon EC2 (Elastic Compute Cloud) instances are virtual servers on which you can run your applications and workloads, offering varying combinations of CPU, memory, storage, and networking resources. You can launch as many instances from as many different AMIs as you need.
