GitLab on AWS - Self-Hosted DevOps Platform with Websoft9 Console
Pricing is based on actual usage, with charges varying according to how much you consume. Subscriptions have no end date and may be canceled any time. Alternatively, you can pay upfront for a contract, which typically covers your anticipated usage for the contract duration. Any usage beyond contract will incur additional usage-based costs.
Additional AWS infrastructure costs may apply. Use the AWS Pricing Calculator to estimate your infrastructure costs.
You pay by the hour based on the EC2 instance type you choose to run this self-hosted DevOps platform. Each dimension maps to a specific AWS instance size, so pricing scales with the compute, memory, and specialized resources that instance provides. Smaller general-purpose instances suit lighter workloads, while memory-optimized, compute-optimized, storage-optimized, and GPU or FPGA instances support heavier demands. You select one instance type to match your needs, and billing accrues per hour of use. No fixed term or upfront commitment applies; hourly usage determines your cost.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What resources do I get for the hourly instance charge I select?
Each dimension maps to one AWS EC2 instance type. That instance defines your CPU, memory, and any specialized resources like GPU or FPGA. You run the self-hosted DevOps platform on that single instance. Note that GitLab needs at least 4 GB of RAM to run without errors.
Am I charged when my EC2 instance is stopped or powered off?
Hourly software charges accrue only while the instance runs. A fully stopped instance stops accruing hourly software charges. Underlying AWS storage fees may still apply to a stopped instance, but the software meters running hours only.
Do I pay upfront or commit to a term to run this platform?
No. Billing is usage-based and metered per hour of instance runtime. No fixed term or upfront commitment applies. You choose one instance type, run it, and pay for the hours used. You can stop running the instance to stop hourly software charges.
