What does one hour of billing cover, and am I charged when the instance is stopped?
You pay per running hour of the EC2 instance you launch. The rate matches the instance type you select. When you stop the instance, the software hourly charge stops. Stopped instances may still incur underlying AWS storage fees for attached volumes, but the software meters running time only.
Does a larger instance type add more Jenkins features, or only more compute?
Every instance type runs the same self-hosted Jenkins software with the Websoft9 console. Choosing a larger instance adds CPU, memory, and other resources, not extra features. You pick the size to match your build and pipeline workload, not to unlock capabilities.
How do I change instance size if my workload grows, and what happens to cost?
You are not locked to one instance type. You can launch a larger or smaller instance and your hourly rate changes to match that new type. Charges track the instance running at the time. There is no automatic tier upgrade; you choose the size yourself.
