    Overview

Teamcenter, from the Siemens Xcelerator portfolio of software and services, is a modern, adaptable PLM system that connects people and processes across functional silos with a digital thread for innovation. Teamcenter helps customers plan, develop and deliver products, while providing secure, controlled access to a company's most sensitive intellectual property throughout the lifecycle of the product, from conceptualization to end of life. When implemented in an Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) deployment model on Cloud, Teamcenter can help improve infrastructure performance, flexibly scale to meet project demands, and lower the total cost of ownership. Additionally, it enables customers to gain those benefits along with the speed, scale, security, and sustainability of the Cloud. Bringing Siemens' Teamcenter to the cloud enables customers to more easily break down silos to combine the realms of Information Technology (IT) and Operational Technology (OT), enabling the fusion of data from the real world of automation with the digital world of information and engineering technology. Customers of all sizes and in all industries trust Teamcenter to help them develop and make the products of the future and by bringing Teamcenter to Cloud, we are enabling more organizations to speed their adoption of PLM, getting them up, running, and productive with innovative capabilities more quickly.

Offers robust integrations and comprehensive document management

    Reviewed on Jun 17, 2025
Review from a verified AWS customer

What is our primary use case?

We performed implementations of Siemens PLM TeamCenter  for different customers including GE, BMW, and a customer in China. Each customer had different use cases, and I was part of the implementation team.

    What is most valuable?

Siemens PLM TeamCenter  has been my favorite product after using it for the last 10 years. It has many excellent features such as managing documents, parts, and designs.

Regarding integration, I generally prefer to use OOTB integration, and Siemens PLM TeamCenter provides numerous OOTB integrations with CAD  applications and SAP tools, making it a comprehensive end-to-end product.

They have the TeamCenter Visualization tool, which is a separate tool with strong integration capabilities to help with markup and reviewing design models. The TC viewer is also an excellent product as a separate module of Siemens PLM TeamCenter.

    What needs improvement?

Currently everyone is looking for cloud-based products, and while they have TeamCenter X, I think it has not yet matured. They can focus on making it more mature and introduce some AI elements.

I have witnessed its stability for the last 10 to 12 years.

How would you rate customer service and support?

    Positive

    How was the initial setup?

The initial setup was not difficult because it was easy to have a good configuration. I would say it was a positive experience rather than difficult.

    What about the implementation team?

I work with multiple companies including IBM, TCS , and at that time, we were working as a partner with Siemens PLM TeamCenter.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

The price always depends and varies based on the relationship as I work for multiple vendors. I would say product-wise, the price is good and among the best.

What other advice do I have?

In a confidential way, I do not want to expose my company and my name. I rate Siemens PLM TeamCenter a perfect 10 out of 10.

Which deployment model are you using for this solution?

    On-premises

If public cloud, private cloud, or hybrid cloud, which cloud provider do you use?

Master Data Analyst, I use it to create KCIDs for p/n and transfer and load into SAP

What do you like best about the product?
It's pretty much straight forward for what you need to fill out to complete the task. It only takes a few minutes to transfer to SAP and I'm able to go back and edit and resend if needed.
What do you dislike about the product?
My teamcenter seems to crash alot. If a part is under certain Group I.D.'s we can't see them, we want to avoid duplicates and also be able to set up New ones correctly. When you transfer and there's an error it doesn't really tell you what that specific error is.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It helps to properly code product p/n, create and load dwgs, sometimes it shows BOMS and see alternative id's.

Great functionality offering, very poor execution & implementation

What do you like best about the product?
I like most of the release ("workflow") functionality, the ability to release similar items. While the hierarchical nature of items/records is very clunky, there's some value in that as well.
What do you dislike about the product?
Instability - items, perspectives and views getting corrupt, cache getting corrupt, Java crashing, est. Also, Java being a few versions behind what works with other Java-using tools is very inconvenient. The excessive complexity and lack of intuitiveness of use is a problem as well. All of these issues cause work productivity problems, which cause many man-hours of hidden cost and overall value reduction.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
General engineering document control, life cycle management, etc.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Thoroughly review other alternatives, and if possible, do "test drives". Talk to both grass-roots users and administrators of all potential candidates before making a decision. It would be good to get both engineering and manufacturing personnel - the folks that do the work every day - to review candidate tools, which will help get truly valuable opinions as well as build concensus on whatever tool is decided upon.
