    Dimensions summary

You pay by the hour for the software, billed only while an instance runs. The many dimensions are EC2 instance types, not feature tiers. Each name maps to an AWS instance size and family, such as general-purpose, compute-optimized, memory-optimized, or storage-optimized. Larger instances carry more virtual CPU and memory, so hourly rates rise with capacity. Some family types show no rate, meaning they are not available for this listing. Pick the instance that fits your workload, and your cost scales with the size you choose. The base operating system is identical across every instance type.

    Top-of-mind questions for buyers

The hourly rate covers the packaged operating system plus bundled support and backup services. This includes chat and email support for default components, one free level 1 support incident per month, and free 1-click cloud backup, restore, and migration. Registration on the vendor Hub activates these bundled benefits.
You pay by the hour only while an instance runs. A stopped or powered-off instance does not accrue software charges. Note that AWS may still bill underlying storage for a stopped instance, but the hourly software rate meters running time only.
You choose the instance type manually. Cost does not scale automatically. To change capacity, you launch a different instance size, and the new hourly rate for that type applies. The base operating system stays the same across every instance type you pick.
