Top-of-mind questions for buyers
Each hourly rate covers one running EC2 instance of the size you pick. The rate bundles the Windows Server 2019 image plus the included security agent as a 1-Click Amazon Machine Image. You pay per instance, per hour of running time. Standard AWS infrastructure charges apply separately.
The hourly software rate meters running time only. A stopped or powered-off instance does not accrue this software charge. Underlying AWS storage fees for the attached volumes may still apply while the instance is stopped. You resume software charges when you start the instance again.
Each running instance bills independently at the hourly rate for its size. Running two instances doubles the charge for those hours. Mixing sizes means each carries its own rate. Your total is the sum of every running instance's hours multiplied by its per-instance rate.

2. Logging in as Administrator
To log in to your AWS Windows instance as an Administrator, follow these steps:
- Go to the AWS Support Knowledge Center to retrieve the Administrator password.
- Use the private key (.pem) file you generated when you created your EC2 instance to decrypt the Administrator password.
- After obtaining the password, you can use it to log in to your Windows instance through Remote Desktop (RDP).
