Oracle Database Client 19c AMI - Pre-Configured for AWS EC2
Stop spending hours manually installing Oracle Client libraries, resolving dependencies, and hardening your OS. This AMI delivers a production-ready Oracle Database Client 19c environment in minutes - pre-configured, security-hardened, and backed by cloudimg's 24/7 expert support with a guaranteed 24-hour response time.
Why Choose This AMI Over Self-Install?
Eliminate manual setup - Oracle Client 19c, AWS CLI v2, Systems Manager Agent, and CloudWatch Agent are pre-installed and configured, removing dependency troubleshooting and configuration drift
Security-hardened from launch - Latest OS patches applied, SELinux enabled, and a hardened baseline so you start secure without additional lockdown steps
Four OS variants - Choose Oracle Linux 8, CentOS 7, AlmaLinux 8, or Rocky Linux 9 to match your compliance requirements or migration path
Optimised networking - ENA support delivers low latency and up to 25 Gbps single-flow bandwidth for high-throughput database connectivity
Key AWS Integration Points
AWS Systems Manager - Automate patching, run commands, and manage inventory without SSH access
Amazon CloudWatch - Monitor client connectivity metrics, resource utilization, and set alarms for proactive issue detection
AWS CLI v2 - Script Data Pump exports, RMAN operations, and infrastructure automation directly from the instance
VPC deployment - Deploy in private subnets with no public IP for network isolation; configure security groups to allow Oracle Net traffic on port 1521
This is a connectivity client only - it does not include an Oracle Database server and cannot host data locally. Buyers should have an existing Oracle Database endpoint (on-premises or on AWS) accessible via network connectivity. Oracle licensing for the client is included in the AMI as repackaged software. The AMI supports deployment on general-purpose and compute-optimised EC2 instance families. Configure your security group to permit outbound traffic on port 1521 (or your custom Oracle Net port) to your database server.
Security Posture
Hardened OS image with latest patches applied at build time
SELinux enforcing mode enabled by default
Oracle Net supports native encryption and TLS for data-in-transit protection to your database server
Deployable in private subnets with no internet-facing exposure

Pricing is based on actual usage, with charges varying according to how much you consume. Subscriptions have no end date and may be canceled any time. Alternatively, you can pay upfront for a contract, which typically covers your anticipated usage for the contract duration. Any usage beyond contract will incur additional usage-based costs.
Additional AWS infrastructure costs may apply. Use the AWS Pricing Calculator to estimate your infrastructure costs.
If you are an AWS Free Tier customer with a free plan, you are eligible to subscribe to this offer. You can use free credits to cover the cost of eligible AWS infrastructure. See AWS Free Tier for more details. If you created an AWS account before July 15th, 2025, and qualify for the Legacy AWS Free Tier, Amazon EC2 charges for Micro instances are free for up to 750 hours per month. See Legacy AWS Free Tier for more details.
You pay by the hour based on the EC2 instance type you launch. The software rate is the same across all instances; your cost scales with the instance size and family you choose. Options span general-purpose, compute-optimized, memory-optimized, storage-optimized, GPU, and high-memory families, from small sizes like t3.nano up to large metal and multi-terabyte instances. Larger or specialized instances carry a higher hourly rate. You are billed only while instances run, with no upfront commitment. The vendor recommends t3.small or larger for this database client workload.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What do I get for the hourly instance rate I select?
Each instance runs an Amazon Machine Image with Oracle Database Client 19c pre-installed at /u01. It includes SQL*Plus, Oracle Net, a dedicated oracle OS user, AWS CLI, monitoring and remote management agents, and 24/7 vendor support with a 24-hour response SLA. The client connects to remote databases; it is not a full database.
Am I charged when the EC2 instance is stopped?
The hourly software rate meters running time only. A stopped instance does not accrue the software charge. You may still pay underlying AWS storage fees for the attached disk, but the software licence bills while the instance runs. There is no upfront commitment.
Which instance type should I pick for this client workload?
The vendor recommends t3.small or larger. Minimum requirements are 1 vCPU, 1 GB RAM, and 20 GB disk. Because the client is a set of tools rather than a running service, small sizes suit most connections. Larger families in the table raise your hourly rate without changing the software function.
