    Dimensions summary

You pay by the hour for this SFTP server, billed per running instance. Pricing scales with the EC2 instance type you choose, not with a fixed plan or tier. Each dimension maps to a specific AWS instance size, from small general-purpose types to large compute, memory, storage, and GPU-optimized options. Larger or specialized instances carry higher hourly rates. The software charge covers vendor support on top of standard AWS infrastructure costs. You match your instance choice to your file-transfer workload, and hourly billing stops when you stop the instance.

    Top-of-mind questions for buyers

Each dimension bills per hour for one running EC2 instance of that specific type. One unit equals one instance-hour. A t3.small running for one hour is one billed hour. The instance type you pick sets the hourly rate, based on its compute, memory, and storage capacity.
The software charge meters running time only. When you stop the instance, the hourly software charge stops. Standard AWS fees for attached storage or other resources may still apply while the instance is stopped, since those are billed separately by AWS.
The listing is repackaged open-source SFTP software preconfigured on Ubuntu with a ready user account. The software charge adds vendor support on top of standard AWS infrastructure costs. You pay the instance-hour rate shown, and AWS bills its underlying compute and storage separately.

    Amazon Machine Image (AMI)

An AMI is a virtual image that provides the information required to launch an instance. Amazon EC2 (Elastic Compute Cloud) instances are virtual servers on which you can run your applications and workloads, offering varying combinations of CPU, memory, storage, and networking resources.
