AWS Marketplace now accepts line of credit payments through the PNC Vendor Finance program. This program is available to select AWS customers in the US, excluding NV, NC, ND, TN, & VT.
Pricing is based on actual usage, with charges varying according to how much you consume. Subscriptions have no end date and may be canceled any time.
Additional AWS infrastructure costs may apply. Use the AWS Pricing Calculator to estimate your infrastructure costs.
If you are an AWS Free Tier customer with a free plan, you are eligible to subscribe to this offer. You can use free credits to cover the cost of eligible AWS infrastructure. See AWS Free Tier for more details. If you created an AWS account before July 15th, 2025, and qualify for the Legacy AWS Free Tier, Amazon EC2 charges for Micro instances are free for up to 750 hours per month. See Legacy AWS Free Tier for more details.
You pay by the hour based on the EC2 instance type you choose to run this SFTP server software. The pricing is usage-based, so charges scale with how many hours each instance runs. Instance choices span many families and sizes, from small burstable types like t2.nano and t3.micro up to large memory, compute, storage, and accelerated options like x1e.32xlarge and u-24tb1.metal. Larger instances with more CPU, memory, or specialized hardware carry higher hourly rates. You select the instance that fits your workload, and the hourly software rate applies alongside your AWS infrastructure cost.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What resource does one hourly charge cover, and what runs on it?
Each hourly charge covers one running EC2 instance of the type you pick. The instance runs Windows Server 2019 with OpenSSH pre-configured for secure file transfer. It supports SFTP, FTP, and FTPS, with password, Active Directory, or SSH key authentication. You choose CPU, memory, and storage by selecting the instance size.
Am I charged the hourly software rate when the instance is stopped?
The software rate meters running instance-hours. When you stop the instance, the hourly software charge stops accruing. Underlying AWS storage fees for the instance disk may still apply while it is stopped. If your server shuts down after inactivity, you can auto-start the service with a startup script.
What makes up my total bill for running this SFTP server?
Two charges apply at the same time. The hourly software rate for the SFTP image is set by the instance type you choose. The AWS infrastructure cost for that instance and its storage bills separately. Both scale with the instance size and hours run. Larger instances raise both charges.

An AMI is a virtual image that provides the information required to launch an instance. Amazon EC2 (Elastic Compute Cloud) instances are virtual servers on which you can run your applications and workloads, offering varying combinations of CPU, memory, storage, and networking resources. You can launch as many instances from as many different AMIs as you need.
