AWS Marketplace now accepts line of credit payments through the PNC Vendor Finance program. This program is available to select AWS customers in the US, excluding NV, NC, ND, TN, & VT.
Pricing is based on actual usage, with charges varying according to how much you consume. Subscriptions have no end date and may be canceled any time. Alternatively, you can pay upfront for a contract, which typically covers your anticipated usage for the contract duration. Any usage beyond contract will incur additional usage-based costs.
Additional AWS infrastructure costs may apply. Use the AWS Pricing Calculator to estimate your infrastructure costs.
If you are an AWS Free Tier customer with a free plan, you are eligible to subscribe to this offer. You can use free credits to cover the cost of eligible AWS infrastructure. See AWS Free Tier for more details. If you created an AWS account before July 15th, 2025, and qualify for the Legacy AWS Free Tier, Amazon EC2 charges for Micro instances are free for up to 750 hours per month. See Legacy AWS Free Tier for more details.
You pay by the hour for this hardened Oracle Linux 8 image, billed per running instance. Pricing has one structure: an hourly software rate tied to the EC2 instance type you choose. Each listed dimension is an AWS instance size, from small general-purpose types to large memory-, compute-, storage-, and GPU-optimized machines. The rate scales with the instance you select, since larger instances carry more vCPU and memory. You add AWS infrastructure charges separately. There are no term commitments; you run instances as needed and stop paying when you shut them down. Vendor support comes with each instance.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What does one hourly unit cover, and how is a running instance counted for billing?
Each unit is one running EC2 instance of the size you select, carrying the hardened Oracle Linux 8 image. You pay the hourly software rate for every instance while it runs. Running ten instances bills ten times the rate. Counting is per instance, per hour.
Am I charged the hourly software rate when I stop or shut down an instance?
The software rate meters running time only. When you stop or shut down an instance, the hourly software charge stops. Underlying AWS charges, such as storage for stopped instances, are billed separately by AWS and may still apply even when the software is not running.
Why does the hourly rate differ across the instance types listed?
The rate is tied to the EC2 instance size you choose. Larger instances carry more vCPU and memory, so they bill a higher hourly rate. Smaller general-purpose types cost less per hour. You pick the instance that fits your workload, and the software rate follows that choice.

An AMI is a virtual image that provides the information required to launch an instance. Amazon EC2 (Elastic Compute Cloud) instances are virtual servers on which you can run your applications and workloads, offering varying combinations of CPU, memory, storage, and networking resources. You can launch as many instances from as many different AMIs as you need.
This image comes pre-configured with Hardened compliance already integrated. However, it's worth noting that the use of a hardened system could call for certain adaptations. The advanced security measures might restrict some functionalities or require additional actions for certain operations due to its hardened nature. Should any issues arise, we recommend reaching out to the software provider for further assistance.
