AWS Marketplace now accepts line of credit payments through the PNC Vendor Finance program. This program is available to select AWS customers in the US, excluding NV, NC, ND, TN, & VT.
Pricing is based on actual usage, with charges varying according to how much you consume. Subscriptions have no end date and may be canceled any time. Alternatively, you can pay upfront for a contract, which typically covers your anticipated usage for the contract duration. Any usage beyond contract will incur additional usage-based costs.
Additional AWS infrastructure costs may apply. Use the AWS Pricing Calculator to estimate your infrastructure costs.
You pay by the hour for each running instance of this hardened Oracle Linux 8 image on ARM-based AWS instances. Pricing is not tiered. Instead, each dimension maps to a specific ARM instance type and size, from small options like t4g.nano up to large 16xlarge and bare metal configurations. The hourly software rate scales with the compute size you select. Larger instances carry a higher hourly rate. You add AWS infrastructure charges separately. Choose the instance type that matches your workload, and you are billed only for the hours each instance runs.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What does one billing unit represent for each dimension?
Each dimension bills per hour for one running instance of the hardened Oracle Linux 8 ARM image on a specific instance type. One t4g.nano hour equals one hour of that image running on a t4g.nano. Each running instance meters separately, based on its instance type and size.
Am I charged the hourly software rate when an instance is stopped or paused?
The software rate meters running hours only. A stopped or powered-off instance stops accruing the hourly software charge. You may still pay separate AWS charges for attached storage while the instance is stopped, but the software licence bills active running time.
What is covered by this hardened image, and what falls outside its scope?
The image provides a release-specific hardened Oracle Linux 8 ARM baseline. Verification covers the packaged operating-system baseline for that release. Your own applications, cloud account configuration, and any changes made after deployment fall outside the image-level scope. These remain your responsibility.

An AMI is a virtual image that provides the information required to launch an instance. Amazon EC2 (Elastic Compute Cloud) instances are virtual servers on which you can run your applications and workloads, offering varying combinations of CPU, memory, storage, and networking resources. You can launch as many instances from as many different AMIs as you need.
