You pay by the hour for this hardened Oracle Linux 8 image running on ARM64 (Graviton) instances. Pricing is not a set of tiers or add-ons. Instead, each dimension maps to a specific AWS instance type, from small general-purpose sizes up to large compute-, memory-, and storage-optimized and bare-metal configurations. Your hourly rate scales with the instance size and family you launch. This software charge is separate from the AWS infrastructure cost for the instance. Choose the instance that fits your workload, and billing accrues only while it runs.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
The software charge meters running instance-hours only. A fully stopped instance does not accrue hourly software fees. Note that stopped instances may still incur AWS storage costs for attached volumes, but those are separate AWS infrastructure charges, not this software license.
Each hourly unit covers the hardened Oracle Linux 8 ARM64 image running on the chosen instance type. It includes the PCI-focused OS baseline, monthly patched releases, and US-based product support. It does not cover application security, cloud architecture, identity, networking, logging, or assessor validation. Your team owns those.
Each dimension maps the image to one AWS Graviton (ARM64) instance type. Pick the instance family and size that fit your workload — general-purpose, compute, memory, storage-optimized, or bare-metal. How to connect to the VM:
To connect to your instance, the use of SSH via port 22 is necessary. The default username for establishing this connection is ec2-user. Hardening Notice and Assistance
This image comes pre-configured with Hardened compliance already integrated. However, it's worth noting that the use of a hardened system could call for certain adaptations. The advanced security measures might restrict some functionalities or require additional actions for certain operations due to its hardened nature. Should any issues arise, we recommend reaching out to the software provider for further assistance.

-The product operates independently without needing extra external resources.
-To ensure optimal performance, it's advised that you perform updates routinely alongside adopting newly released versions from Citadel.
-This software doesn't require any security keys or credentials to be rotated. It's strongly suggested to utilize EC2 instance connect or AWS Systems Manager Session Manager for best results.
-The functioning of this software does not involve the collection of any customer data.
