What do you dislike about the product?
While Tableau is exceptionally powerful, the pricing model can be quite restrictive for smaller teams or growing businesses, making it a significant investment.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Before Tableau, we struggled with fragmented data across multiple spreadsheets and silos, which made generating cohesive reports slow and prone to errors.

Tableau's Strengths Overshadowed by Performance Issues

What do you like best about the product?
I like Tableau's rich visualization capability and modularized KPI management. It saves a lot of time in maintaining or upgrading each KPI version, and its visualization out of the box is good compared to our older solution. Tableau is also a established platform, great for internal analytics with a lot of visualizations. We don't have to program our own visualization layer, which is a huge time saver. Just by changing one line in a Tableau report, we avoid repeated manual KPI updates, making it much easier to manage metrics and reducing the chance of errors.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are a few things that didn't work out with Tableau for us. First, the customizability was a big issue. It was really hard to make it fit into our existing design library, such as just changing the font or color to match our styles. If we wanted to add anything like a pop-up window or a drawer, it didn't support these features easily, which made us spend a lot of time figuring out workarounds. Performance was another major problem. We expected fast report rendering times since we're dealing with a large employee experience platform and tons of data, but using Tableau with live data took at least 30 seconds for a report to render, which is far too long. The lack of lazy loading resulted in poor experiences for our clients, often leading to complaints about response times. Version control and compatibility with other platforms were also challenging. Each client might have different report versions and metrics, and Tableau didn't make it easy to manage these various versions. Permission control was tough too, as some clients wanted to see specific cards or rows programmatically, which was difficult to implement. These issues were significant enough that we ended up canceling our contract with Tableau.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Tableau saved us time by offering a modularized KPI management system, eliminating the need for manual updates and reducing errors. It provides robust visualization tools, allowing deeper insight analysis, which our clients appreciate.

What do you like best about the product?
The best part I liked about Tableau is I can connect to almost any data source and without any code I can quickly build powerful visualizations. Also the ability to turn raw data into clear, dashboards is easy. The stand out point of Tableau which is important to me is when I am conducting fraud investigation and need to compare different data from multiple touch points.
What do you dislike about the product?
Although Tableau provided a supportive community but still we required a dedicated resource to setup, use and manage. The customization is sometimes challenging, data syncing too doesn't seem to work right.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The problem Tableau solved for me is identifying the user behaviour from patterns and product usage trends early. Moreover getting clear data out of unfiltered data easily and I can build the prototypes of data exploration in no time. I can now detect performance issues before it becomes pattern.
