What do you like best about the product?

The different kind of filter and its setup and the visualization is way advance compare to powerBI tool.

What do you dislike about the product?

The capability of integration with other tool and import data into the tableau. Also the costing is pretty high.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?

Tableau is helping us address challenges related to data visibility, fragmented reporting, and delayed decision-making. Business users currently rely on multiple data sources and manually generated reports, which can lead to inconsistent insights and increased effort to track key performance indicators. This makes it difficult for leadership and operational teams to gain a unified view of business performance in real time.

What do you like best about the product?

Tableau makes it easy to turn raw data into interactive dashboards and visual stories. I like the drag-and-drop experience, flexible charts, and ability to connect to different data sources without needing to code for every report.

What do you dislike about the product?

More advanced calculations, data preparation, and dashboard design can take time to learn. It also works best when the underlying data is clean and well-organized.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?

Tableau helps solve the problem of hard-to-read spreadsheets and scattered reporting by turning data into clear, shareable visuals. It makes trends, gaps, and performance easier to spot, helping teams make faster, more informed decisions.

What do you like best about the product?

What I find most compelling about Tableau is how it balances pure visual flexibility with deep enterprise data governance.
Here is what stands out to me:
Unmatched Flexibility in Visual Analytics: Unlike rigid, template-driven reporting tools, Tableau’s calculation engine and drag-and-drop canvas let you slice, aggregate, and visualize data in almost any shape or form. You aren't limited by preset chart types; if you can conceptualize a data relationship, you can build it. 
Proactive Insights with Tableau Pulse & Semantics: It is shifting from static, reactive dashboards to "push" analytics. Features like Tableau Pulse use natural language and metric tracking to automatically surface outliers and trends directly where users work—like Slack or email—without requiring them to dig through complex dashboards. 
Native Integration with Data 360 & Agentforce: With recent platform evolutions (like Tableau Next), Tableau acts as the analytical brain for AI agents. By grounding visuals and insights in Data 360’s unified data layer, business users and autonomous agents draw from the same single source of truth.
A Vibrant, Collaborative Community (DataFam): Beyond the software itself, Tableau’s global community is a massive asset. The sheer volume of shared work, custom solutions, and peer support makes troubleshooting complex calculations or learning advanced design techniques much easier.
Ultimately, Tableau transforms raw data into an intuitive, interactive narrative that enables faster, confident decision-making across an entire organization.

What do you dislike about the product?

What I find most frustrating about Tableau isn't its capacity for visualization, but rather the operational friction, cost overhead, and rigid design choices that come with managing it at scale.
Here is what stands out to me as the biggest drawbacks:
High Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) & License Rigidity: Tableau Creator licenses remain significantly higher than market competitors like Power BI. Managing the strict tiered licensing (Creator, Explorer, Viewer) creates administrative overhead as user needs shift, and scaling interactive dashboard access to a wide audience quickly becomes expensive.
Steep Learning Curve for Non-Analysts: While drag-and-drop visuals look simple, truly mastering Tableau requires understanding its unique underlying architecture—such as Level of Detail (LOD) expressions, table calculations, and complex blend relationships. For non-technical business users or casual builders, self-service analytics often turns into a bottleneck where they must rely on dedicated data analysts. 
Inflexible Desktop Layout Engine: Designing pixel-perfect, responsive layouts across multiple device sizes (Desktop, Tablet, Mobile) can be surprisingly painful. The container system (tiled vs. floating) often requires manual pixel tweaking, and making minor design changes across nested containers can easily break a complex dashboard layout.
Limited Native Data Prep (Compared to Dedicated ETL): While Tableau Prep Builder has improved over time, it still struggles with heavy enterprise data transformation compared to dedicated tools like dbt, Snowflake SQL, or Matillion. Relying on Tableau to do heavy data cleanup often results in slow extracts or sluggish workbook performance.
Developer Workflow & Version Control Gaps: Native git integration, collaborative multi-author editing, and deployment pipelines (CI/CD) for Tableau workbooks (⁠.twbx⁠ files) are far behind modern software development standards. Multiple developers working on the same dashboard simultaneously remains a manual, error-prone effort. 
In short, Tableau is an unmatched engine for visual exploratory analysis, but managing its licensing math, steep learning curve, and developer workflow limitations demands constant architectural discipline.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?

1. Rapid Exploratory Data Analysis (EDA)
Instead of writing repetitive, multi-join aggregation queries to inspect distribution curves, missing values, or spatial clusters, Tableau allows instantaneous visual prototyping. You can validate hypotheses about raw data in seconds simply by dragging measures onto canvases.
2. Democratizing Governance Without Chaos
Tableau Server and Cloud allow centralized data management. You can define row-level security (RLS), standardized data sources, and permissions once at the published data source layer, letting end users build custom visual reports safely without compromising data integrity or compliance.
3. Higher Strategic Impact Over Manual Reporting Tax
Automating recurring reporting workflows and distribution frees up hours previously spent manually extracting CSVs, re-running scripts, or updating slide decks, allowing teams to focus on strategic data modeling, root-cause analysis, and business execution.

It is very easy to use and integrate with any data source

What do you dislike about the product?

Tableau is still lacking in AI part. Tableau AI is not capable enough to give data insight

The dashboard details help with decision-making and predictive analysis.

Bringing KPI's into our CRM so the users don't have to access another platform.

License can be expensive, and Tableau is new to our company, so I'm still learning the functionality.
