Launch and Configure
Getting started with the AMI is straightforward:
Select an appropriate Amazon EC2 instance type.
Configure a security group with SSH access on TCP port 22 as required.
Launch the instance using your preferred EC2 key pair.
Connect to the server through SSH.
Confirm the operating system with:
cat /etc/fedora-release
Apply available package updates using:
sudo dnf update
Install and configure the applications and services required for your workload.
Important :- Fedora 39 reached end of life. Customers
should evaluate their security, maintenance, and migration requirements before deploying
this version in production environments.

You pay by the hour for this hardened Fedora 39 Linux image. Each pricing dimension maps to one AWS EC2 instance type, and you pick the one matching your workload. Charges run only while an instance stays active. Prices scale with the instance you choose: smaller types like t2.nano and t3.micro cost less per hour, while large compute, memory, storage, and GPU types such as c7i.12xlarge, r6id.8xlarge, i3en.12xlarge, and g5.12xlarge cost more. You can run several instance types at once and stop them anytime to end billing.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What do I receive for the hourly charge on a chosen instance type?
You get the hardened Fedora 39 Linux image running on that EC2 instance type. The image comes pre-configured with security settings applied. Your hourly rate covers the software licence for that instance size. AWS bills its own compute and storage fees separately from this software charge.
Am I charged when an instance is stopped or paused?
The software charge meters running hours only. A stopped instance does not accrue the hourly software fee. However, underlying AWS storage tied to a stopped instance may still incur AWS fees. To end all software billing, stop or terminate the instance.
If I run several instance types at once, how does my bill combine?
Each running instance meters independently at the hourly rate for its own type. The charges add together on one invoice. Running two different types means paying both hourly rates in parallel for the hours each stays active. Total cost tracks the sum of all active instances.
