You pay by the hour for a hardened Oracle Linux 9.4 image running on your chosen Amazon EC2 instance type. The software price is billed per hour and depends only on which instance type you select. Each dimension maps to one EC2 instance size, from small general-purpose types to large memory-, compute-, storage-, and accelerated-computing options. Larger or more specialized instances carry higher hourly software rates. You are not locked into a commitment; charges accrue while an instance runs and stop when you stop it. AWS infrastructure costs are billed separately by AWS.

You get a pre-hardened Oracle Linux 9.4 image ready to run on your chosen Amazon EC2 instance. The software charge covers that packaged, security-configured operating system. The rate is set per instance type. Larger or specialized instances carry higher hourly software rates than smaller general-purpose types.
The software fee meters running time only. When you stop an instance, the hourly software charge stops accruing. Stopped instances may still incur separate AWS storage fees for attached volumes, but those are billed by AWS, not as part of this software rate.
Each dimension maps to one instance type, and its hourly software rate applies only while that instance runs. If you switch types, billing follows the new instance's rate from the moment it starts. You are charged per instance, so running several instances bills each one independently at its own rate.

Usage instructions

Info regarding virtual machines The operating system does not save any sensitive information for the customers. The customer is responsible for saving any information, sensitive or not. The data saved on the volumes is not encrypted by default. All instance authentication must use key pair access, not password-based authentication. AMIs does not contain passwords, authentication keys, key pairs, security keys, or other credentials. PasswordAuthentication is set to NO in sshd_config. The application does not make use of any encryption techniques.
Troubleshooting Navigate to your Amazon EC2 console and verify that you're in the correct region. Choose Instance and select your launched instance. Select the server to display your metadata page and choose the Status checks tab at the bottom of the page to review if your status checks passed or failed.
