Instead, you choose an AWS EC2 instance type, and the hourly rate follows the size and family you pick. Options range from small burstable types like t3.nano and t2.micro to large general-purpose types across the m4, m5, m6, and m7 families, including bare-metal sizes. Larger instances with more vCPUs and memory cost more per hour. You are billed only for the hours each instance runs.

You get a preconfigured machine image that runs Keycloak with a PostgreSQL database on Ubuntu 22.04 LTS. The hourly rate covers the software on the EC2 instance size you select. Each instance type maps to a set amount of vCPUs and memory, which determines its rate.
You pay the software rate only for the hours an instance runs. Stopped instances do not accrue software charges. Underlying AWS storage costs for the attached volume may still apply while the instance is stopped, but the software meters running time only.
