AWS Marketplace now accepts line of credit payments through the PNC Vendor Finance program. This program is available to select AWS customers in the US, excluding NV, NC, ND, TN, & VT.
Pricing is based on actual usage, with charges varying according to how much you consume. Subscriptions have no end date and may be canceled any time. Alternatively, you can pay upfront for a contract, which typically covers your anticipated usage for the contract duration. Any usage beyond contract will incur additional usage-based costs.
Additional AWS infrastructure costs may apply. Use the AWS Pricing Calculator to estimate your infrastructure costs.
If you are an AWS Free Tier customer with a free plan, you are eligible to subscribe to this offer. You can use free credits to cover the cost of eligible AWS infrastructure. See AWS Free Tier for more details. If you created an AWS account before July 15th, 2025, and qualify for the Legacy AWS Free Tier, Amazon EC2 charges for Micro instances are free for up to 750 hours per month. See Legacy AWS Free Tier for more details.
You pay by the hour for MySQL 5.7 running on CentOS Stream 9. Pricing is not tiered by features. Instead, you pick one EC2 instance type, and your hourly software rate matches the compute size you choose. The listing covers a wide range of instance families, from small general-purpose types like t1.micro to large memory-, compute-, storage-, and GPU-optimized types. Smaller instances carry lower hourly rates, and rates rise as you move to larger or more specialized instances. You add standard AWS infrastructure charges separately. Every instance runs the same bundled software.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What does the hourly software rate actually pay for, and what runs on the instance?
The rate covers a MySQL 5.7 database bundled on CentOS Stream 9, billed per instance-hour. One EC2 instance you launch counts as the billing unit. The software and its libraries come self-contained, so you get the same database stack regardless of which instance type you pick.
Am I charged the hourly software rate when my instance is stopped or paused?
The software rate meters running instance-hours only. A stopped instance does not accrue software charges. You may still owe standard AWS storage fees for the attached disk while the instance is stopped, but that is separate from the software rate shown here.
How does my bill change when I move to a larger instance type?
You pay a single hourly rate tied to the instance type you run. Moving to a larger or more specialized type sets a higher hourly software rate for the hours it runs. The change applies when you switch types, not gradually, and separate AWS infrastructure charges also rise with size.

An AMI is a virtual image that provides the information required to launch an instance. Amazon EC2 (Elastic Compute Cloud) instances are virtual servers on which you can run your applications and workloads, offering varying combinations of CPU, memory, storage, and networking resources. You can launch as many instances from as many different AMIs as you need.
