What is our primary use case?
What is most valuable?
What needs improvement?
For how long have I used the solution?
How are customer service and support?
How would you rate customer service and support?
Positive
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
How was the initial setup?
What other advice do I have?
Which deployment model are you using for this solution?
If public cloud, private cloud, or hybrid cloud, which cloud provider do you use?
Work from anywhere and backup easily while being practical
What is our primary use case?
I use it just as a backup system on the cloud for my personal documents and pictures.
What is most valuable?
It is very practical and so easy to upload and download files and carry on without my computer. I can work anywhere, and that's correct.
What needs improvement?
I would like to have a document flow. Sharing documents with other people in the same division or department and being able to work without downloading the file would be ideal. Working online would be nice.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have used it for maybe five years, yet only in a personal mode.
How are customer service and support?
The support is provided by a special area inside of the company. These are people who have the skills for technology issues. They try to configure and teach other people how to use it. We provide the support ourselves and do not have any support straight from Dropbox.
How would you rate customer service and support?
Neutral
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
I used SharePoint and ShareFile maybe five years ago for a specific project. I was only a user, not an administrator of the environment.
How was the initial setup?
It is difficult to set up. I'd rate the solution maybe a six or seven out of ten.
What about the implementation team?
Many of our employees are not technical people. They work in energy and are field workers. We have two main groups of people. One is for administrative issues, and the other, which is 70% of the company, consists of field workers. That is about 60 or 70 people, with maybe 12% needing to work with it.
Which other solutions did I evaluate?
I would like to know how to use all of its features or used other options.Â
What other advice do I have?
I recommend Dropbox, yet not for all of the features it has. I am a basic user. In a personal mode, we have about 100 employees, and maybe 20 of them use Dropbox as a personal backup system. ShareFile is more secure than Dropbox. Five years ago, ShareFile was qualified as having better security control, access privilege management, and version control recovery, among many features that we were using for private documentation.Â
Overall, I would rate Dropbox an eight out of ten.
Which deployment model are you using for this solution?
If public cloud, private cloud, or hybrid cloud, which cloud provider do you use?
Great file management and search functionality with room for better collaboration
What is our primary use case?
We use Dropbox primarily for file storage and management.Â
What is most valuable?
The search functionality and the ability to preview images are quite good. It's similar to managing files on my computer.
What needs improvement?
Dropbox needs to improve its integration with Google platforms, including Google Sheets, Google Docs, and Google Slides, which facilitate easier collaboration. I would also like to see features related to folder structure recommendations and enhanced encryption.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have used the solution for around two years.
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
We are considering switching from Dropbox to Google Suite because Google Suite offers better collaboration features.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
We are using the free version of Dropbox.
Which other solutions did I evaluate?
I am considering switching to Google Suite.
What other advice do I have?
I'd rate the solution seven out of ten.
Which deployment model are you using for this solution?
