Since its release, Go has become highly popular among developers and is used for various applications ranging from cloud or server-side applications, to artificial intelligence and robotics.
This Linux image provided is tailored for enterprise-level performance on AWS, containing an installation of Go, the necessary packages to operate an SSH Server and permit user logins. The most recent security updates from the team are incorporated. Root login is deactivated, with only the default user granted access via SSH public key authentication.

Dimensions summary
You pay by the hour for each running instance, with the software supported by Apollo. Pricing is not fixed to one tier. Instead, your rate depends on the EC2 instance type you choose. The list covers many families and sizes, from small burstable instances like t2.nano and t3.micro up to large compute, memory, storage, GPU, and bare-metal options such as x1e.32xlarge and u-24tb1.metal. Larger instances with more CPU, memory, or specialized hardware carry higher hourly rates. You scale cost by picking a size that matches your workload and by running instances only when needed.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
The hourly rate pays for the software running on your chosen instance and Apollo's support for that stack. It does not cover the underlying AWS compute, storage, or data transfer, which AWS bills separately. Your total cost combines the Apollo software charge and standard AWS infrastructure fees.
The software charge meters running time only. A stopped instance does not accrue the hourly software fee. You may still owe AWS storage fees for attached volumes while the instance sits idle, but the Apollo software rate applies to running hours.
The rate is tied to the specific instance type you run. Moving to a size with more CPU, memory, or specialized hardware changes your hourly rate to that instance's rate. You only pay the new rate for hours the new instance runs, and the change takes effect when you launch it.
