AWS Marketplace now accepts line of credit payments through the PNC Vendor Finance program. This program is available to select AWS customers in the US, excluding NV, NC, ND, TN, & VT.
Pricing is based on actual usage, with charges varying according to how much you consume. Subscriptions have no end date and may be canceled any time.
Additional AWS infrastructure costs may apply. Use the AWS Pricing Calculator to estimate your infrastructure costs.
If you are an AWS Free Tier customer with a free plan, you are eligible to subscribe to this offer. You can use free credits to cover the cost of eligible AWS infrastructure. See AWS Free Tier for more details. If you created an AWS account before July 15th, 2025, and qualify for the Legacy AWS Free Tier, Amazon EC2 charges for Micro instances are free for up to 750 hours per month. See Legacy AWS Free Tier for more details.
You pay by the hour for the running server, billed based on the EC2 instance type you choose. The software cost is the same across all instances; only the compute size changes what you pay. Smaller instances like t2.nano and t3.micro fit light file transfer needs. Larger instances such as x1e.32xlarge, u-24tb1.metal, and the many xlarge sizes give more CPU and memory for heavier workloads. This lets you match spend to your expected transfer volume and user load. AWS charges the hourly rate only while the instance runs, so costs scale with usage.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What does one hour of billing cover, and am I charged when the instance is stopped?
You pay for each hour the EC2 instance runs. The hourly rate combines the software licence with your chosen instance size. Stopped instances do not accrue software charges, but AWS may still bill for attached storage. Charges resume when you start the instance again.
How do I decide which instance size to select for my file transfer needs?
Pick the instance based on expected user count and transfer volume. Smaller sizes like t2.nano or t3.micro suit light use. Larger sizes such as x1e.32xlarge or u-24tb1.metal add CPU and memory for heavier concurrent transfers. The software features stay the same; only compute capacity and hourly cost change.
Does the hourly price include everything, or are there extra AWS costs?
The hourly rate covers the pre-configured FileZilla FTP server software and the EC2 compute for your chosen instance. You may pay AWS separately for storage volumes, data transfer, and any public IP address needed for external client connections. These underlying AWS charges are billed by AWS, not the software licence.

An AMI is a virtual image that provides the information required to launch an instance. Amazon EC2 (Elastic Compute Cloud) instances are virtual servers on which you can run your applications and workloads, offering varying combinations of CPU, memory, storage, and networking resources. You can launch as many instances from as many different AMIs as you need.
