AWS Marketplace now accepts line of credit payments through the PNC Vendor Finance program. This program is available to select AWS customers in the US, excluding NV, NC, ND, TN, & VT.
Pricing is based on actual usage, with charges varying according to how much you consume. Subscriptions have no end date and may be canceled any time.
Additional AWS infrastructure costs may apply. Use the AWS Pricing Calculator to estimate your infrastructure costs.
If you are an AWS Free Tier customer with a free plan, you are eligible to subscribe to this offer. You can use free credits to cover the cost of eligible AWS infrastructure. See AWS Free Tier for more details. If you created an AWS account before July 15th, 2025, and qualify for the Legacy AWS Free Tier, Amazon EC2 charges for Micro instances are free for up to 750 hours per month. See Legacy AWS Free Tier for more details.
You pay by the hour for this SFTP server, and the rate depends on the AWS EC2 instance size you run it on. Each dimension maps to a specific instance type, so pricing scales with the compute, memory, and storage that instance provides. Smaller instances like t3.nano cost less per hour, while large memory, compute, GPU, and bare-metal instances cost more. You choose the instance that matches your transfer volume and performance needs. Billing is usage-based, so you only pay for the hours you run. Software charges are added to standard AWS infrastructure fees.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What counts as one billed unit for this hourly SFTP server?
You are billed per running instance-hour of the single EC2 instance you launch. One unit equals one hour that instance runs. The instance size you pick sets the rate. Running multiple instances multiplies the charge, since each instance meters its own hours separately.
Am I charged the software fee when the instance is stopped or powered off?
The software fee meters running instance-hours only. A fully stopped instance stops accruing software charges. You may still pay standard AWS charges for storage volumes attached to the stopped instance, but the hourly software rate applies only while the instance is running.
Do add-on modules like FIPS, MFA, or High Availability change this hourly rate?
The Marketplace hourly rate covers the core SFTP server tied to your chosen instance. Optional modules such as advanced authentication, FIPS compliance, PGP encryption, and high availability are described on the seller site as separate additions. For how those modules are priced or activated, contact the vendor.

An AMI is a virtual image that provides the information required to launch an instance. Amazon EC2 (Elastic Compute Cloud) instances are virtual servers on which you can run your applications and workloads, offering varying combinations of CPU, memory, storage, and networking resources. You can launch as many instances from as many different AMIs as you need.
