Dimensions summary
You pay by the hour for the EC2 instance type you run this hardened Apache NiFi image on. Pricing is usage-based, so you are billed only for the hours each instance runs. The hundreds of options are not tiers or feature levels. Each one maps to a specific AWS EC2 instance type across families like general-purpose (m, t), compute-optimized (c), memory-optimized (r, x), storage-optimized (d, i), and accelerated computing (g, p, inf, trn). Larger instance sizes carry higher hourly rates. You pick the instance that fits your workload's compute, memory, and storage needs.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
Each unit is one running EC2 instance of the type you select, billed per hour. The hourly rate covers the hardened Apache NiFi software image running on that instance. You pay for each hour an instance runs, counted separately for every instance you launch.
The hourly software charge meters running time only. A fully stopped instance does not accrue software charges. You may still see underlying AWS fees for attached storage or other resources while the instance is stopped, but those are separate from the software rate.
Pick a smaller instance size within a family that fits your compute, memory, and storage needs. Smaller sizes carry lower hourly rates. Because billing is usage-based, running fewer instances or running them for fewer hours also reduces your total charge.
