Dimensions summary
You pay by the hour for the EC2 instance that runs this Apache NiFi image. Each dimension maps to one AWS instance type, so the list mirrors AWS instance families. General-purpose (t, m), compute-optimized (c), memory-optimized (r, x, z), storage (d, i), GPU and accelerated (g, p, inf, trn, vt, dl), and high-memory (u) families are all covered. Pricing scales with the size and capability of the instance you pick, from nano and micro up through metal and multi-xlarge sizes. You choose the instance that fits your workload and are billed only for hours used.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
Each hourly unit is one running EC2 instance of the type you select, loaded with the pre-configured Apache NiFi image. You are billed for the software running on that instance for every hour it runs. The AWS compute cost for the instance itself is billed separately by AWS.
The software charge meters only running hours. When you stop or terminate the instance, hourly software charges stop accruing. A stopped instance may still incur AWS storage fees for its attached volumes, but that is separate from the per-hour software charge shown here.
Each instance type is a separate hourly rate. Larger sizes, such as multi-xlarge or metal instances, carry higher hourly rates than nano or micro sizes. Switching types is manual: you launch the new instance type you want, and billing then follows that instance's rate for hours run.
