     Info

    Dimensions summary

You pay by the hour for each running instance, with no upfront commitment. All 16 dimensions run the same hardened Amazon Linux 2023 image on Arm64/Graviton hardware. Pricing scales by the EC2 instance type you launch. These group into four families: t4g for general burstable workloads, m7g for balanced compute, c7g for compute-focused workloads, and r7g for memory-focused workloads. Within each family, you choose a size from large up to 4xlarge (medium to 2xlarge for t4g). Larger sizes bill at higher hourly rates. Your AWS EC2 infrastructure charges are separate from this software fee.

    Top-of-mind questions for buyers

Each hourly rate covers the Amazon Linux 2023 image hardened to CIS Benchmark Level 1, running on Arm64/Graviton hardware. You get SELinux enforcing, key-only SSH, automatic security updates, and a per-instance file-integrity baseline. The rate scales with the EC2 instance size you launch.
The software fee meters running instance-hours only. A stopped instance does not accrue the hourly software charge. You may still pay underlying AWS fees, such as storage for the stopped volume. Charges resume when you start the instance again.
You pay for one dimension at a time, based on the instance type you launch. Cost equals that type's hourly rate multiplied by running hours. Larger sizes bill at higher rates. Your separate AWS EC2 infrastructure charges add to the software fee on the same invoice.

    Amazon Machine Image (AMI)

An AMI is a virtual image that provides the information required to launch an instance. Amazon EC2 (Elastic Compute Cloud) instances are virtual servers on which you can run your applications and workloads, offering varying combinations of CPU, memory, storage, and networking resources. You can launch as many instances from as many different AMIs as you need.

    Usage instructions

    1. Launch the instance. Allow TCP 22 from your own network only (never 0.0.0.0/0).
    2. Connect: ssh -i your-key.pem ec2-user@<instance-ip>
    3. Use sudo for administration; the root account is locked.
    4. Security updates install automatically. Run sudo dnf upgrade for everything else.
    5. Some unused filesystem modules (NFS/EFS, FUSE, overlay) are disabled by CIS hardening. To re-enable them, delete /etc/modprobe.d/ioanyt-cis-unused-fs.conf and reboot. Guide: https://ioanyt.com/aws-marketplace/hardened-amazon-linux/deploy
