You pay by the hour based on the AWS EC2 instance type you run. This listing packages Apache Flink with security and support from Hossted. The seven options are not feature tiers. Each maps to a different EC2 instance size and family, so pricing scales with the compute, memory, and processor you choose. Compute-focused, general-purpose, and memory-focused instances are all available. Pick the instance that fits your workload; billing follows your actual hours of use. You can change instance types by deploying a different option.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
Each option meters one running hour of the chosen EC2 instance type. The listing charges for time the instance is running, combining the software license fee with the underlying compute. Instance types differ in processor, CPU count, and memory, so the hourly rate reflects the resources you selected.
The software fee meters running hours only. When you stop the instance, hourly software charges stop accruing. AWS may still bill underlying storage such as attached volumes while the instance is stopped. Restarting the instance resumes hourly software billing.

After deployment, you can access your application at http://<public IP>. (It might take up to 15 minutes to be available post-deployment). The machine is accessible via SSH, default username: ubuntu. Where relevant, app login credentials are available on message of the day (and /etc/motd).
