AWS Marketplace now accepts line of credit payments through the PNC Vendor Finance program. This program is available to select AWS customers in the US, excluding NV, NC, ND, TN, & VT.
Pricing is based on actual usage, with charges varying according to how much you consume. Subscriptions have no end date and may be canceled any time. Alternatively, you can pay upfront for a contract, which typically covers your anticipated usage for the contract duration. Any usage beyond contract will incur additional usage-based costs.
Additional AWS infrastructure costs may apply. Use the AWS Pricing Calculator to estimate your infrastructure costs.
You pay by the hour for MariaDB running on SUSE Linux Enterprise Server, matched to the arm64 EC2 instance you choose. Each dimension maps to a specific instance type, so your rate scales with the instance size and family you pick. Larger sizes within a family (medium, large, xlarge up to 48xlarge and metal) carry higher hourly rates. Families cover general-purpose (m, t4g), compute-optimized (c), memory-optimized (r, x), and storage-optimized (i, is) workloads. You are billed only for the hours each instance runs, with no upfront commitment.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What do I actually get for the hourly rate on each instance dimension?
You get the MariaDB database software running on SUSE Linux Enterprise Server, deployed on the arm64 EC2 instance type named in that dimension. The hourly rate covers the software and SUSE Linux support. AWS charges the underlying EC2 compute and storage separately on your bill.
Am I charged when an instance is stopped or powered off?
The software rate meters running hours only. A fully stopped or powered-off instance does not accrue software charges. Note that stopped instances may still incur AWS storage fees for attached volumes, but the software licence bills active running time.
How does my cost change if I move to a larger instance size?
Each dimension maps to one instance type. Moving from a smaller size to a larger one within a family, or switching families, changes your hourly rate to that instance's rate. The change is not automatic; you choose and launch the instance type you want.

An AMI is a virtual image that provides the information required to launch an instance. Amazon EC2 (Elastic Compute Cloud) instances are virtual servers on which you can run your applications and workloads, offering varying combinations of CPU, memory, storage, and networking resources. You can launch as many instances from as many different AMIs as you need.
Use the image to start an instance of your choice in Amazon EC2. Once the instance is running connect to it using a Secure Shell (SSH) client as 'ec2-user' and the configured SSH key. You may connect the instance to the SUSE Customer Center (SCC) or the region local SUSE operated update infrastructure using your existing SUSE registration key. Use 'SUSEConnect -r' or 'registercloudguest -r', respectively to enable your instance to receive maintenance updates and security fixes.
