This product has charges associated with it for seller support. Elyxia Global Limited offers a pre-configured and hardened Odoo 18 Community image running on AlmaLinux 10. Odoo is an open source suite of business applications that share one database, covering sales, invoicing, inventory, purchasing, manufacturing, projects and HR, so the same customer and product record is used everywhere.

    Overview

    Play video

Elyxia Global Limited brings you a robust and performance-optimized Odoo 18 Community image on AlmaLinux 10. This ready-to-deploy AMI gives you a working ERP in minutes rather than a day spent assembling Python, PostgreSQL, a web server and a report engine. Odoo runs the whole business from one database. Sales and CRM, quotations and invoicing, accounting, inventory and purchasing, manufacturing, project management, HR, and a website and eCommerce front end are installed from the Apps menu as you need them, and they share the same customers, products and documents rather than being separate systems that have to be integrated. The AlmaLinux 10 base ensures your system runs on a secure, enterprise-grade Linux distribution known for stability and long-term support. Whether you are a small team running quotations and stock or a business adding manufacturing and accounting later, Odoo grows one app at a time, and its open-source licence means you keep full control of your data with no per-user fee.

Pre-bundled with this AMI: Odoo 18 Community, AlmaLinux 10, PostgreSQL 16, Python 3.12, Caddy reverse proxy, PDF report engine, Docker and Docker Compose

The application runs in containers. Odoo and its database are managed by Docker Compose on the instance, which means application updates can be delivered without replacing the AMI, and the database runs on an isolated internal network with no port exposed to the internet. Your attachments, documents and generated invoices are kept in separate storage that an application update does not touch.

Your Odoo is installed and ready when the instance finishes starting. There is no database creation screen and no master password to choose. The administrator account is created for you and its password is shown once, in the summary at the end of installation.

The exact Odoo version is fixed in the image. Odoo publishes no release tags, so an installation that builds from the public repository gets whatever changed that day. This image is built from one recorded commit, which means every instance of a given build is running exactly the same code as every other.

PDF reports work from the first day. The report engine that renders quotations, invoices and reports is installed and configured, including the page headers, footers and numbering that are missing from many self-built installations.

This is a clean Odoo with no sample data, so nothing has to be cleared out before you enter real records.

Exclusive Fixes and Resolutions by Elyxia Global Limited:

    • Real-Time Features Restored: chat, live notifications and presence work out of the box. A self-built install commonly routes these to the path Odoo replaced in version 16, so nothing reaches the service and the features fail silently.
    • PDF Reports Print Correctly: quotations, invoices and reports render with page headers, footers and page numbering, using the patched rendering engine Odoo requires. Installations built from the standard package usually get a plain engine that drops all three.
    • Report Engine Protected From a Silent Misconfiguration: Odoo disables PDF rendering entirely when it is started with exactly one worker process, without reporting an error. This image is configured so that cannot happen.
    • Your Domain Address Stays Put: Odoo rewrites its own recorded web address on the next administrator login unless a second setting is written alongside it. Our domain tool writes both, so associating a domain does not quietly undo itself.
    • Database Closed to the Internet: PostgreSQL runs on a private network inside the instance with no published port, and Odoo`s own ports are reachable only through the HTTPS proxy.

Use your own domain name with a free SSL certificate. One command requests a Let`s Encrypt certificate, renews it automatically, and redirects HTTP to HTTPS.

The instance needs only three inbound ports: 22 for SSH, 80 and 443 for Odoo and certificate issuance. This image does not include a local mail server, so Odoo sends through an SMTP server that you provide, configured under Settings, Technical, Outgoing Mail Servers.

    Highlights

    • One System for the Whole Business: Sales, CRM, invoicing, accounting, inventory, purchasing, manufacturing, projects and HR share one database, installed from the Apps menu as you need them, with no per-user licence fee.
    • Five Fixes You Would Otherwise Make Yourself: real-time chat and notifications routed correctly, PDF reports with proper headers and page numbers, a report engine protected from the one-worker setting that silently disables it, a domain address that does not revert on next login, and a database closed to the internet.
    • Containerized and Maintainable: Odoo and PostgreSQL run as Docker containers on AlmaLinux 10, so the database is not exposed to the internet and application updates do not require rebuilding the instance. A Caddy reverse proxy handles HTTPS and your free SSL certificate.

    Dimensions summary

You pay by the hour for this software running on an AWS EC2 instance. Pricing is not a set of tiers or plans. Instead, each dimension maps to a specific EC2 instance type, such as t3.large, m5.xlarge, or r6i.metal. You pick the instance size that matches your compute, memory, and storage needs. Larger instances with more resources bill at higher hourly rates. Charges accrue only while the instance runs, so cost scales with how long you use it. This delivers a security-hardened image, letting you deploy in minutes and stop billing when you shut the instance down.

    Top-of-mind questions for buyers

Each dimension maps to one running AWS EC2 instance of that named type, billed per hour. The instance type sets the compute, memory, and storage you receive. You are charged for one instance per hour it runs, regardless of how many users access the software on it.
The hourly software charge accrues only while the instance runs. When you stop or shut it down, the software charge stops. Underlying AWS resources like attached storage may still incur separate AWS fees, but the software licence meters running time only.
You receive a security-hardened image that deploys in minutes on your chosen EC2 instance. The software is the same across every instance type. Only the underlying compute, memory, and storage change with the instance you select, which is what sets the hourly rate.

64-bit (x86) Amazon Machine Image (AMI)

    Amazon Machine Image (AMI)

An AMI is a virtual image that provides the information required to launch an instance. Amazon EC2 (Elastic Compute Cloud) instances are virtual servers on which you can run your applications and workloads, offering varying combinations of CPU, memory, storage, and networking resources. You can launch as many instances from as many different AMIs as you need.

    Version release notes

Release Notes for Odoo 18 Community Alma Linux 10 (EGL Build 260911.1) This version supersedes the existing EGL Build 260629.1.

    What is New:

    1. (NEW) Containerized build on AlmaLinux 10, replacing AlmaLinux 9. Odoo and its database run as containers, so application updates can be delivered without replacing the AMI, and your attachments and documents are kept in storage that an update does not touch.

    2. (NEW) Your Odoo is ready when the instance finishes starting. The database and your administrator account are created for you, so there is no database creation screen and no master password to choose.

    3. (NEW) The exact Odoo version is fixed in the image and recorded in it. Odoo publishes no release tags, so the previous build downloaded whatever was current on the day each instance was launched and no two instances were alike. Every instance of a given build now runs identical code.

    4. (NEW) Use your own domain name with a free SSL certificate. Run one command, sudo egl-setup-domain.sh.x, and enter your domain. A free Let`s Encrypt certificate is requested automatically and renews itself from then on. No email address is required and no configuration files need editing.

    5. (NEW) Automatic HTTP to HTTPS redirect once a domain is associated, so visitors reach the secure address whichever they type.

    6. (NEW) Reverse proxy included. TLS is handled by a Caddy proxy in front of Odoo, so certificates survive application updates and container restarts instead of needing to be reinstalled.

    7. (FIXED) Chat, live notifications and other real-time features now work. The previous build routed them to an address Odoo stopped using at version 16, so nothing reached the service behind it.

    8. (FIXED) PDF reports print with correct headers, footers and page numbering. The report engine is installed and configured rather than left to the customer.

    9. (FIXED) The address Odoo records for itself no longer reverts. Left to itself Odoo rewrites it to whatever host the next administrator login arrives on, which silently undid a domain change the first time anyone used the old address.

    10. (IMPROVED) Odoo 18 Community on Python 3.12 and PostgreSQL 16, both pinned in the image.

    11. (IMPROVED) The database is no longer reachable from outside the instance. It runs on an isolated internal network with no published port, and the recommended inbound ports are now only 22, 80 and 443. Ports 5432, 8069 and 9090 no longer need to be open.

    12. (IMPROVED) Attachments, documents and generated invoices are stored separately from the application, so they are untouched when the application is updated.

    13. (IMPROVED) Installation no longer depends on a single image source. If one source is unavailable the installer falls back to others automatically, so a new instance can still be built.

    14. (IMPROVED) Clearer installation messages, including a check that your domain points at the instance before a certificate is requested. This avoids the Let`s Encrypt rate limit that follows repeated failed attempts.

    15. (IMPROVED) This is a clean Odoo with no sample data, so nothing has to be cleared out before you enter real records.

    16. (IMPROVED) The installation summary now names the login field the way Odoo labels it. Odoo asks for an "Email" but accepts the login admin, which reads as a mismatch on a first install.

    17. (IMPROVED) Outbound mail is configured in one place. This image does not include a local mail server, so Odoo sends through an SMTP server that you provide, set under Settings, Technical, Outgoing Mail Servers.

    Additional details

    Usage instructions

Connect to the instance over SSH as ec2-user and run the one-click installer. The full guide, including the AWS console steps, is at https://assist.elyxia.uk/docs/odoo-18/one-click-installation/

The installer creates your database and administrator account and prints the username and password once, at the end. Write the password down before closing the terminal. It is generated for your instance and is not stored anywhere you can read it back.

Open Odoo at http://YOUR-INSTANCE-PUBLIC-IP/  and log in with those details. Odoo labels the first field Email, but your login is admin rather than an email address, so type admin there. There is no database selection screen, because the database is created for you. Install the apps you need from the Apps menu. This is a clean Odoo with no sample data.

To use your own domain name with a free SSL certificate, run: sudo /usr/local/bin/egl-setup-domain.sh.x

Before you invite your team, set your outgoing mail server under Settings, Technical, Outgoing Mail Servers. This instance cannot send email until you do, so password resets, quotations and invoices will not be delivered.
