You pay by the hour for this pre-built Appsmith image running on AWS. Pricing is usage-based, so charges accrue only while your instance runs. There is no single fixed price. Instead, each dimension maps to a specific EC2 instance type, and your hourly rate follows the instance you choose. Smaller instances suit light workloads, while larger compute, memory, storage, or GPU instances handle heavier demand. The instance families cover general purpose, compute-optimized, memory-optimized, storage-optimized, and accelerated computing options. You scale cost up or down by selecting a different instance size to match your needs.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What do I get for each hourly instance charge?
Each dimension maps to one running EC2 instance of the named type. Your hourly rate covers the pre-built Appsmith software image on that instance. The instance type sets the CPU, memory, storage, and GPU resources available. You pay for one instance per hour, based on the size you launch.
Am I charged when my instance is stopped?
Software charges accrue only while your instance runs. When you stop the instance, hourly software charges stop. Underlying AWS storage or other AWS resource fees may still apply while the instance is stopped. The software meters running time only, so idle or powered-off instances do not add software cost.
How do I move to a different instance type if my workload grows?
You select a different instance dimension to change your hourly rate. Switching to a compute, memory, storage, or GPU instance changes what you pay per hour. Charges follow the instance you run at any given time. You are not locked into one size and can match the instance to current demand.

An AMI is a virtual image that provides the information required to launch an instance. Amazon EC2 (Elastic Compute Cloud) instances are virtual servers on which you can run your applications and workloads, offering varying combinations of CPU, memory, storage, and networking resources. You can launch as many instances from as many different AMIs as you need.
