AlmaLinux 9.3 (Alma 9.3) with support by Rinne Labs
Pricing is based on actual usage, with charges varying according to how much you consume. Subscriptions have no end date and may be canceled any time. Alternatively, you can pay upfront for a contract, which typically covers your anticipated usage for the contract duration. Any usage beyond contract will incur additional usage-based costs.
Additional AWS infrastructure costs may apply. Use the AWS Pricing Calculator to estimate your infrastructure costs.
If you are an AWS Free Tier customer with a free plan, you are eligible to subscribe to this offer. You can use free credits to cover the cost of eligible AWS infrastructure. See AWS Free Tier for more details. If you created an AWS account before July 15th, 2025, and qualify for the Legacy AWS Free Tier, Amazon EC2 charges for Micro instances are free for up to 750 hours per month. See Legacy AWS Free Tier for more details.
You pay by the hour for the AlmaLinux 9.3 image, billed only while an instance runs. Pricing scales by the EC2 instance type you select, and each type carries its own hourly rate. Options span small burstable sizes through large memory-, compute-, storage-, and accelerator-optimized machines, up to bare-metal and high-memory instances. Larger instances with more CPU, memory, or specialized hardware cost more per hour. You choose the instance type that fits your workload, then combine that hourly software rate with standard AWS infrastructure charges. There is no upfront commitment; you can stop billing by stopping the instance.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What do I actually get for the hourly software rate on each instance type?
You get the AlmaLinux 9.3 operating system image maintained by Rinne Labs. It comes as a minimal install with an expandable root disk, ENA networking, SELinux enabled, cloud-init, and the latest security updates at release. The hourly rate covers the image and vendor support, separate from AWS infrastructure charges.
Am I charged the hourly software rate when my instance is stopped?
No. The software rate meters only running instance-hours. When you stop the instance, the hourly software charge stops. Stopped instances may still incur standard AWS storage fees for attached volumes, but those are separate AWS infrastructure charges, not the vendor software rate.
Why do different instance types carry different hourly rates for the same operating system?
The software rate is set per EC2 instance type. Larger instances with more CPU, memory, or specialized hardware carry a rate. Your total cost combines this per-hour software rate with the underlying AWS infrastructure charge for the same instance, billed together by the hour.
