This is a cloud-native Milvus on the Websoft9 Applications Hosting Platform. It is always up-to-date, secure, and ready to use right out of the box with business support from Websoft9.
Milvus is an open source AI vector database designed for processing massive vector data. It supports efficient similarity search, vector indexing and large-scale data management, and is widely used in image retrieval, recommender systems, natural language processing, etc. Milvus provides a rich SDK and APIs, supports multiple programming languages, and is easy to integrate into various applications. Its high performance and scalability make it ideal for processing AI and big data applications.
Websoft9 is a lightweight, self-hosting PaaS that allows you to deploy multiple applications on your own cloud infrastructure. It employs a GitOps approach and includes an integrated app store that supports one-click deployment of over 300 template applications, as well as the ability to deploy custom applications. Users have complete autonomy, ensuring that applications can be easily configured and continuously deployed even after they are live. Additionally, the web-based interface allows users to effortlessly perform tasks such as domain binding, HTTPS setup, access control, and status monitoring.

Dimensions summary
You pay by the hour for the EC2 instance type you run this self-hosted vector database on. The many options are not tiers or feature levels. Each one maps to a specific AWS instance size, from small burstable types to large memory-, compute-, storage-, and GPU-optimized machines. Your hourly rate scales with the instance you pick: larger instances with more CPU, memory, or specialized hardware cost more per hour. You choose the size that fits your workload. Billing runs only while the instance is active, so costs track actual usage.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
Each hourly unit maps to one running EC2 instance of the type you select. The software runs on a single virtual machine you launch on AWS. You are billed per hour that instance stays active, based on the instance type you chose at launch.
The hourly software rate meters running time only. When you stop the instance, software charges stop accruing. Note that AWS may still bill for attached storage while the instance is stopped, but the vector database software itself charges only while the instance runs.
This is a usage-based model with no upfront commitment. You pay only for the hours each instance runs. There is no fixed term to lock in. This suits variable workloads where you can start and stop instances as your needs change.

- You do not need to SSH into EC2 at all steps, easy to operate.
