You pay by the hour for the EC2 instance size you choose to run this self-hosted MySQL database with the Websoft9 Console. Pricing is not organized into feature tiers. Instead, each dimension maps to a specific EC2 instance type, so your rate scales with the compute, memory, and storage profile of the instance you select. Smaller general-purpose types like t2 and t3 sit alongside compute-optimized (c-family), memory-optimized (r- and x-family), storage-optimized (i3, d2), and accelerated (p, g, f) instances. You match instance capacity to your workload and stop charges by stopping the instance.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What do I get for the hourly rate on a given instance type?
Each hourly rate covers a running EC2 instance preloaded with the MySQL database and the Websoft9 Console. The instance type you pick sets the CPU, memory, and storage profile. General-purpose, compute-optimized, memory-optimized, storage-optimized, and accelerated families are available, so you match capacity to your database load.
Am I charged when I stop the EC2 instance?
Software charges meter running instance-hours. When you stop the instance, hourly software charges stop accruing. Underlying AWS storage for the stopped instance may still apply through your AWS account. Charges resume when you start the instance again, so you control cost by starting and stopping as needed.
Does running MySQL on a larger instance add separate database or feature charges?
No. You pay one hourly rate tied to the EC2 instance type you select. The database and Websoft9 Console are self-hosted on that instance, so cost scales only with instance size. There are no separate per-user, per-database, or feature-tier charges layered on top.
