ABOUT KILL BILL: Kill Bill includes all of the basic features a business needs to run subscription billing processes and payment processes.
The real power of Kill Bill lies in building your own business logic on top of it to create a customized billing and payments solution. You can write plugins to modify Kill Bill's behavior and integrate with third-party vendors. Kill Bill already has many open-source plugins. Use them as examples for creating your own or modify them for your own use.
Even if you need to create your own customizations, Kill Bill is still a highly affordable solution.

AWS Marketplace now accepts line of credit payments through the PNC Vendor Finance program. This program is available to select AWS customers in the US, excluding NV, NC, ND, TN, & VT.
You pay by the hour based on the EC2 instance size you run. Three options are available: t2.medium, t2.large, and t2.xlarge. Each option maps to a different instance size, so the hourly rate scales with the compute capacity you select. You pick one size to match your workload. This single-AMI deployment runs the billing server and its admin interface together on one node, so you choose the instance size that fits your needs. Your software cost is billed on top of your separate AWS infrastructure charges.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What does one hour of billing cover, and am I charged when the instance is stopped?
Each dimension meters running instance-hours for the EC2 size you launch (t2.medium, t2.large, or t2.xlarge). Software charges accrue only while the instance runs. A stopped instance does not accrue software charges, though separate AWS storage fees may still apply to attached volumes.
How do I move to a different instance size if my workload grows?
You pick one size at launch, and the hourly rate matches that size's compute capacity. To change size, you stop the current instance and relaunch on the size you want. Since this single-AMI setup runs the server and admin interface on one node, only that node's size changes.
What is included in this single-AMI deployment, and what runs separately?
The single-AMI runs the billing server, the admin interface, and a bundled database together on one node. This suits prototyping and test environments. It is not built for redundancy, since everything runs on a single node. You pay the hourly software fee plus your own AWS infrastructure costs.

An AMI is a virtual image that provides the information required to launch an instance. Amazon EC2 (Elastic Compute Cloud) instances are virtual servers on which you can run your applications and workloads, offering varying combinations of CPU, memory, storage, and networking resources. You can launch as many instances from as many different AMIs as you need.
