This listing bills on a single usage dimension: Container Hours. You pay for each hour the software containers run in your AWS account. There are no tiers or fixed quantities to select up front. Your cost scales directly with how long the containers stay active. You run the stack yourself in your own AWS account, so this software fee is separate from the underlying AWS infrastructure charges you incur for compute and related services.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What counts as one Container Hour for billing?
A Container Hour is one hour that a software container runs in your AWS account. This deployment runs the platform across multiple container tiers on ECS. Each running container accrues hours while active. The count reflects actual running time of the containers, not fixed instance sizes or user counts.
Am I charged when the containers are stopped or idle?
The software fee meters running time only. Container Hours accrue while the containers are active. Fully stopped containers do not add software charges. You may still incur underlying AWS infrastructure charges for storage or related services, since you run the stack in your own AWS account.
Does the Container Hours fee include the AWS compute costs for running the platform?
No. This software fee is separate from your AWS infrastructure costs. You deploy and operate the platform in your own AWS account, so you pay AWS directly for compute and related services. The Container Hours charge covers the software licence for the running containers only.

Containers are lightweight, portable execution environments that wrap server application software in a filesystem that includes everything it needs to run. Container applications run on supported container runtimes and orchestration services, such as Amazon Elastic Container Service (Amazon ECS) or Amazon Elastic Kubernetes Service (Amazon EKS). Both eliminate the need for you to install and operate your own container orchestration software by managing and scheduling containers on a scalable cluster of virtual machines.
