Dimensions summary
You pay by the hour for the running server, billed per instance-hour. Pricing is not tiered. Instead, each dimension maps to a specific AWS EC2 instance type, and your rate depends only on which type you launch. Options span general-purpose, compute-optimized, memory-optimized, storage-optimized, and accelerated-computing families across many sizes, from small shared instances up to bare-metal machines. Larger instances with more CPU, memory, or specialized hardware carry higher hourly rates. You pay only while an instance runs, and you can pick the type that fits your workload and stop it anytime.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
One unit is one running EC2 instance measured per hour. Each dimension maps to a single instance type. You are billed for each hour that instance runs. Launching two instances of the same type bills two hourly rates in parallel. The rate reflects the type you choose.
The software rate meters running time only. When you stop the instance, hourly software charges stop accruing. Underlying AWS storage and other AWS resource fees may still apply while the instance is stopped, but those are separate from this listing's per-hour software charge.
This is usage-based, pay-as-you-go billing. You do not commit upfront. Charges accrue per instance-hour only while an instance runs, and you can stop anytime to halt charges. This suits variable or short-term testing workloads where you launch, measure, and shut down as needed.

The operating system does not save sensitive information for users/customers. There are no data encryption techniques set for current AMI. Disabled password-based remote logins for the root user. PermitRootLogin is set to without-password. (Location : sshd_config) The current AMI does not contain authorized_keys and password. Users can launch instances of AMI with a key pair and log in without requiring a root password. Navigate to your Amazon EC2 console and verify that you're in the correct region.
