KUSANAGI 9 is a high-performance, secure execution environment for running WordPress fast and stable. Business Edition adds the AI Assist plugin for WordPress 7.0, environment diagnostics, multi-PHP containers, and long-term operation support for production sites.
KUSANAGI 9 is a high-performance execution environment that has run WordPress fast, secure, and stable for over a decade, with up to 260x faster page delivery than a standard LAMP stack, across major clouds. That proven platform is the foundation. KUSANAGI 9 Business Edition is what you add on top to run WordPress in production for the long term.
WordPress 7.0 introduced the foundation for AI integration (AI Client and the Abilities API). Business Edition is the environment for putting that AI to work in day-to-day operations, and for keeping it (and your site) running reliably for years.
What Business Edition adds:
AI Assist plugin (NEW): Its first feature, Plugin Advisor, periodically checks your installed plugins for compatibility, long-unmaintained code, and file tampering, then lets you ask AI how to prioritize and respond. The capabilities KUSANAGI registers via the WordPress Abilities API are read-only. AI never changes settings on its own.
Environment diagnostics (analyze): A single command scans the whole server for leftover risky files, misconfigurations, and permission issues, reported as alert / notice / info.
Multi-PHP containers: Run a different PHP version per site on a single server, so you can keep legacy sites running while testing newer environments without adding servers.
WordPress operation guarantee: Operation-tested packages for major WordPress releases, with module and middleware updates through CentOS Stream EOL.
Backed by the developer, GMO Prime Strategy: vetted update repositories, published security advisories, and EULA-based support, so you can run WordPress and its AI features safely over the long term. For workloads that need the longest possible OS support window, KUSANAGI 9 Business Edition is also available on AlmaLinux OS.
Key features:
Improves WordPress (and other CMS) speed and stability
TLS 1.3 (TLS 1.1 and older disabled), Let's Encrypt, and monit
WordPress visual provisioning on first launch, and provisioning via commands
Compatible with the newest major instance types
Requirements: The AI Assist plugin requires WordPress 7.0 or later and WordPress-side AI setup (AI / AI-provider plugins and a Connectors API key), and is available on Business and Premium editions. Multi-PHP containers require an nginx + MariaDB environment (Apache is not supported).

You pay by the hour for KUSANAGI 9 Business Edition running on your chosen AWS EC2 instance. Each dimension maps to a specific instance type, so pricing scales with the size and family of the instance you select. Options span general-purpose, compute-optimized, memory-optimized, and storage families, from small sizes to large multi-vCPU sizes. Larger instances carry higher hourly rates because they provide more compute and memory. You are not locked into a term; billing follows your actual running hours. The software license fee is added on top of the underlying AWS infrastructure charges for the instance you run.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What do I get for the hourly rate on each instance type?
You get the KUSANAGI 9 Business Edition software license running on the AWS EC2 instance type you select. It runs on CentOS Stream and includes the CMS execution environment, the WEXAL Page Speed Technology engine, and the strategy AI. Each dimension maps to one specific instance size and family.
Am I charged the software fee when my instance is stopped?
The software fee meters running hours. A fully stopped instance does not accrue the hourly software charge. Stopped instances may still incur underlying AWS storage fees for attached volumes, but those are separate from the license charge and billed by AWS.
How does the software fee combine with what AWS charges for the instance?
Two charges apply together on the same bill. The KUSANAGI license fee is added on top of the AWS infrastructure charge for the instance you run. Both are metered per hour of running time. Larger instance families raise both the AWS charge and the license rate.
