Dimensions summary
You pay by the hour based on the EC2 instance size you run. The 14 dimensions map to specific instance types, not feature tiers. They span general-purpose families (t3, t3a, m5, m6i) and a compute-optimized family (c5), in micro, small, medium, large, and xlarge sizes. Each dimension charges the same hardened Amazon Linux 2023 image at a per-hour rate tied to that instance size. Larger instances carry higher hourly software fees. AWS infrastructure costs like EC2, EBS, and data transfer are billed separately by AWS.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
The fee covers the hardened Amazon Linux 2023 image itself. It includes firewalld and automatic security updates. You pick an instance size like t3.micro or c5.xlarge, and the same image runs on it. The per-hour rate scales with the instance you choose.
The software fee meters running instance-hours only. A fully stopped instance does not accrue this per-hour software charge. AWS may still bill underlying infrastructure like EBS storage while the instance is stopped. Those AWS costs are separate from the software fee.
AWS infrastructure charges are billed separately by AWS. These include EC2 compute, EBS storage, NAT Gateway, public IPv4, and data transfer. The hourly rate in the table is the software fee only. Your total bill combines that fee with your AWS usage.

Launch checklist
Step 1 -- Subscribe in AWS Marketplace (Limited availability during review), then Launch in us-east-1.
Step 2 -- Instance type: t3.medium or compatible (see product instance type list).
Step 3 -- Key pair: select your EC2 SSH key. Password login is disabled.
Step 4 -- Security group: allow inbound TCP 22 from your administrator IP only.
